Rank Alton's coasters in terms of ride experience

It's absolutely NOTHING of the sort to make that comparison. I think back row Wicker Man is more thrilling than Nemesis, I'm not really sure what's hard to comprehend about that. If anyone thinks different, that's absolutely fine, but don't tell me I'm wrong for having a different opinion.

I haven't ridden wickerman enough to say for sure which I prefer but I absolutely think that it rivals Nemesis for intensity. I can't see how you wouldn't accept that some people might think that?

Thrill levels on a ride aren't an opinion they're a fact. Everyone experiences the same ride the same way

Intensity you could say is factual, but thrill is subjective. You could say the ride is intense because it pulls a large amount of g-force but without other interesting parts it may not feel thrilling, or different people get their thrills in different ways.

Thrill level is a very subjective thing @Ethan; like @Rick and @pluk have both said, what’s thrilling to one person may not be thrilling to another. People find different things scary, and some people might favour a different type of force compared to others. And not to mention; thrill level is a very subjective opinion!

A factor that I don’t believe has been mentioned yet, however, is in response to the bolded in this quote of yours:
Thrill levels on a ride aren't an opinion they're a fact. Everyone experiences the same ride the same way
With regard to the bolded, I don’t think that’s necessarily true.

Roller coasters, particularly woodies (as we’re talking about Wicker Man), can be very variable. Believe me, speaking from my own experiences, a ride can vary to a surprising extent between seats, between trains, between days, between times of day; you name it, it can vary how a coaster is riding! For example, when someone rides Nemesis, they might be riding it first thing in the morning on a freezing cold day, when it hasn’t warmed up, where it’s crawling through the elements, whereas they might be riding Wicker Man at the end of a long Scarefest day when it’s just rained, where it’s absolutely hauling!

Not to mention that factors with the person themselves influence it too! I know it sounds strange, but different people can perceive forces differently to one another. It’s due to the way our brains are wired, and it can also be down to circumstance. For instance, someone who is fully hydrated and has had 8 hours of sleep could perceive forces differently to someone who’s barely drunk and has had barely any sleep.

My point is; thrill level is very subjective for all kinds of reasons. What one person thinks is thrilling won’t necessarily be thrilling to another.
Well in that case I think Blue flyer is the most thrilling roller coaster in the uk
Fair enough; I won’t argue with you on that one! I don’t personally agree based on my experiences, but I haven’t had the same experiences on it as you!

1. Wicker Man
2. Nemesis
3. The Smiler
4. Spinball Whizzer
5. Oblivion
6. Th13teen
7. Rita
8. RMT
9. Galactica

Slight update from me. Whenever I do this Nemesis and Spinball have tended to tick upwards and that trend has continued. I find both of these rides extremely rerideable and think they offer a much more consistent experience than much of the pack (The Smiler is very hit and miss, as is Rita)

Th13teen has dropped a bit for me recently. The outdoor section really is a bit pathetic.

Galactica does nothing for me.

1) Nemesis
2) Wicker Man
3) Smiler (only got to experience it in 2017)
4) Galactica
5) Runaway Mine Train
6) Spinball Whizzer
7) Th13teen
8) Rita
9) Octonauts

Almost the same as my list - you must have good taste! :D Though I did put Smiler in #1 spot and I can't for the life of me remember why (don't think I'd ridden it in a couple of years and the one time I've done it this year was NOT pleasant!). Also I had Spinball and Thirteen the other way around but actually on reflection Spinball is probably more fun.

Oh, you're missing Oblivion btw...

  1. Nemesis - still exhilarating
  2. Oblivion - still scary
  3. Thirteen - great drama/theatre/innovation
  4. Rita - adrenaline of launch and first hill air
  5. Wicker Man - good but lacking for a woodie
  6. Galactica - graceful and cool
  7. The Smiler - rough and old before its time
  8. Spinball Whizzer - average thrill
  9. Runaway Mine Train - average family
  10. Octonauts - assumed, not ridden

1. NEMESIS
2. Oblivion
3. Wicker Man
4. The Smiler
5. Th13teen
6. Galactica
7. Runaway Mine Train
8. Spinball Whizzer
9. Rita
10. Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure

Top 2 quite a bit ahead of 3rd for me, a toss up between Galactica and Th13teen (if it was still Air it would probably win out) and RMT/SW/Rita all pretty equal really. My 5yo loves Octonauts and I think they’ve done a pretty good job with theming (love the train) and music helps heighten drama for young ones.

Have changing opinions on positions 3-7 constantly but I'll echo that Nemesis was the most consistently great in 2021 for me than in any other year, and Wicker Man was also on fantastic form at the end of the year despite a few rough rides in the middle of the year. The Smiler & Oblivion remain superior, but no ride was riding horrifically last year, so let's so how things go this year!

Fingers crossed I finally ride Smiler this season. Will be interesting to see where it fits in my rankings. :)
