New bench

I'm just not sure the bench will look right in those colours. It might be different in person but it'll take some getting used too.

On the topic of benches (why?) I was watching this Benny Hill involving a bench and I began thinking of having this bench for park though let's have Henry Hound in the role as Cupid/Benny Hill! :p

Breaking: Alton Towers have put in new planning application in regards to the bench!

Karen and Ken from the village have written an objection on the portal and it looks like the Parish Council will object to it. They said-

"This new bench will ruin views from the village. It we wanted to mind our own business and hand glide over the top of the site with pairs of binoculars, as one does, we would clearly be able to see the bench which ruins the natural beauty of the area. It can also be clearly seen at night with night vision cameras. It will also cause traffic problems as it would attract more people to the area and we would be able to hear excited screams from people sitting on the bench from the beer garden of the Fox and Hound."

The environment angency said they have "no concerns as long as a proper risk assessment of potential flood risks associated with the works on the installation of said bench is undertaken thoroughly".

Bit late with the application if they've already started the work? At least there are no typos visible so far.
Didn't stop them filling the house ruins with Scarefest garbage and then applying for planning permission to keep Scarefest garbage in there years later (which still hasn't been approved) :)

Interesting that part of the application does state that they will remove Spinball as a compromise to get it passed.

We always suspected that Spinball would be used as a bargaining tool for a large planning application, but no-one could have imagined that it would be in relation to a bench.

New for 2023 fast track seating for £1 you got 15 mins to eat your lunch or have a drink.

Spokesmen from Alton towers have said the biggest complaint at guest services for 2022 was people using benches just to have a rest and guests who had paid for food and drink had to stand and eat so we added this new service to make it fair for all our visitors.

Has anyone managed to take any photos showing what they're doing with our beloved Bench?

Have they installed a lift to allow those with disabilities and pushchairs to access the bench?

Word is they've felled a local oak tree to provide the wood for the job. The backlash from the locals has been enormous. On the planning portal, a user by the name LocalMoaner69 has been quoted "How dare they fell that tree, it is my dogs favourite one to use as a toilet" and another local, StonerFan420, said "Well you know man, that was like, er, the best tree like ever man"

Local councillor Lord Loadsamoney in an earlier interview with Richard O'Connor for ATNT provided info on why this tree specifically has been used "The tree in question was clearly very old and unstable as seen with the chains holding it up. It has had lightning damage in the past and somebody has dragged away the large branch that fell from the tree. There's also a local grave from roughly the correct period of someone who died after a storm so we must remove this tree before another branch falls off and kills someone else"

I hope these objections don't causes issues for the park in this crucial construction stage.

I heard someone broke into Hex and Stole the broken branch and it’s currently been used for wood to restore the bench.
