[...] CatCF for example is a very good IP for Towers, it just wasn't executed well.

:)

Understatement of the century award goes to...! :p

I can see the attraction of adding something like Moshi Monsters as an IP - bright, engaging, sought after by kids (exclusive AT monster, anyone?) and light hearted.

The thing is, a large proportion of the popular kids market has been covered by other parks... Towers were a wee bit slow on the uptake!

Re: Classic IP. What do we have left that's a classic but still has strong appeal? Thomas the Tank is about the only one? :-/

Postman Pat! Or Fireman Sam! ;)

Rainbow. That wouldn't fly straight over the head of today's generation at all ;)

Now if it was up to me, I'd have Spot the Dog! I love Spot! :D

In all seriousness, I'm not too sure what they could really go for. It's a shame that Shrek didn't work out as I do think that would have fitted rather well. I'd quite like an IP that has a bit of magic to it, Shrek would have had that I think.

:)

Ok so here is my idea. It initially came about trying to find a better location for sonic, but then turned into a much larger extension of CCL. Im not sure if planning would even allow sonic to be relocated here but either way, this is my plan for SEGA street

The expansion includes the removal of whatIi presumed was a storage building behind the frog hopper. This has also been replaced with a higher capacity, and more 'family friendly' drop tower (same manufacturer as Cranky the crane at thomas land) themed to pokemon as well as the addition of a flying elephant style ride, themed to Dr. Eggman's flying robots.
Eggmansonic4.gif

The last new flat ride is those circular boat rides found at drayton and thorpe, themed to super monkey ball.
Sonic Spinball will keep it's same name and theme, however will have more theming added such as golden hoops with 'pinging' sound effects as you pass through them, and a very small dark ride section at the start with neon lights and two screens where Dr. Eggman fires Sonic out of a cannon into a pinball machine, with a replica cannon at the bottom of the lift hill to simulate the same is happening to you. The inside of the cannon to be themed similar to that of Hulk's launch with smoke, lighting and sound effects. If possible the station will also feature a double station, which will be able to hold more cars and increase loading speed.

Ice age(C) will be changed to incorporate simulators similar to Despicable me Minion Mayhem's/Jimmy Neutrons and will be themed to a gumba training facility with a very similar storyline to despicable me's.
The largest attraction in the area will be the new flume/dark ride (g) This will replace CATCF and the burger king building to produce a giant indoor flume similar to Valhalla in size. The ride will be themed to pokemon where team rocket have stolen Pikachu and we have to chase them, passing through cold frozen regions to hot volcanic, with more and more dangerous pokemon as we go along as well as traps set out from Jessie and James.(So fairly similar to dudley do rights ripsaw falls)
Driving school is rethemed to mario kart.
F becomes a small arcade,
D is new sideshow games,
B remains wobble world, but themed to Sega heroes and the cafe
A becomes a gift shop
Buildings are themed similar to the ones from IOA Marvel Island but with sega heroes on them. The Purple lines are just themed facade walls to give a more streety feel.

And of course there will be numerous characters out and about, occasionally performing small shows.

Thats not really Sega street though, I think you've got some characters mixed up with Nintendo IP's! :p

Also Sonic Spinball will not be able to move there as it's the close to Alton Village, and Spinball is a very annoyingly loud ride... as remembered from the Th13teen preview evening! :p

Not much can go down that end of the park due to its proximity to Alton. Likewise, not much can really be added to the other end of the park towards Katanga Canyon as it is close to Farley. Id love to turn the overflow bus park into a water coaster/tomb ride, but alas its very unlikely to happen.

Are there any decent IP's left?

What about something like Nintendo? Supermario World would be awesome :p

Or, I don't know how 'flash in the pan' it is, but it seems to be sticking around, Angry Birds, kids and adults love it!

I know a small park recently opened as Angry Birds playground, but this was some small scale IP deal with the playground manufacturer, not the park.

I've thought that Winnie the Pooh would be a great IP for the park to use, it would fit the Storybook area's theming style pretty well and wouldn't need replacing any time soon because the IP has got outdated. Would I be right in thinking that Disney own the rights to that IP now?

If I ever see a Angry Birds land at Alton, I will personally boycott the park...

Mario doesn't sound like a bad idea, it is popular and definitely recognisable, Although I'd find a bit odd that they would retheme Spinball from Sonic to Mario =P

If they got Mario as an IP I would promise never to criticise Towers or Merlin ever again (assuming it was done well)! Having an area themed around the Mushroom Kingdom or something like that would be amazing! Having said that I highly doubt that it will ever happen.

:)

As cool as Mario would be I really wouldn't like to see it at Towers. As others have said, if Towers are going for an IP it simply has to be something quintessentially British. It's just the quirky nature of the place which makes it so. Winnie the Pooh would be a great idea, but Disney already have attractions with that theme built :(

It's okay saying it has to be quintessentially British, but are there any British IP's left that would have enough pulling power for todays family market?

Wallace & Gromit is going to Pleasure Beach, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings are out of Merlin's league and are already destined for Universal, old-school classics like Beatrix Potter and Roald Dahl just wouldn't cut it.

What about some some kind of CBBC or CITV land? Rosie & Jim would have made a great theme for Eye Spy... 15 years ago!

Personally I would love to see a Crash Bandicoot area replace Old MacDonald's Farm, Riverbank Eye Spy could be themed to the island Crash lives on, There's Something in the Dung Heap could have wumpa fruit added into it, Berry Bish Bash could be firing wumpa and the buildings in the area could be replaced with wooden/bamboo style huts.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I think the franchise is pretty much dead now. I haven't heard or seen Crash around for ages!
