If this is the name, then I did not see 'The Inoculator' coming. Hmmm

I like it!

It's interesting and unique, and adds a sense of mystery to the ride!

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

The Inoculator? It's certainly different, and not exactly what I was expecting. It certainly has a bit of a sinister edge to it, so it could work.

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

just typed it in on google heres a defintion 1. To introduce a serum, vaccine, or antigenic substance into (the body of a person or animal), especially to produce or boost immunity to a specific disease.
2. To communicate a disease to (a living organism) by transferring its causative agent into the organism.
3. To implant microorganisms or infectious material into (a culture medium).
4. To safeguard as if by inoculation; protect.
5. To introduce an idea or attitude into the mind of.

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

I see The Inoculator being the name of the spider rather than the ride. Surely they'd make more of a fuss about revealing the name of the ride?

Having "the" in the name of a roller coaster is never good. The Inoculator sounds an absolutely appalling name, really I hate it even more than the Smiler.

Sounds just like the kind if thing that would fit in with The Ministry of Joy theme. I like it! :)

The Inoculator links in to the DNA strands that were part of the initial marketing for the ride - vaccination / inoculation.

Not sure about it as a name, though. Trying to think what this could mean for the back story. Inoculating the world from unhappiness and fear to create a world of joy?

EDIT: Also, looks like the word before is "beater", so guess they're moving away from "world first" in the marketing again.

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

Just had a look at the meaning, "introduce an idea or attitude into the mind" so I think it's got a strong connection with the sanctuary if I'm not mistaken

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the AT Facebook page is having different updates. The latest one on there is:

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

Thinking about using it a sentence.

"Lets go for a quick ride on the innoculator"

Compared to,

"Lets go for a quick ride on oblivion"

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

It looks like a still from a video, so maybe the queueline will have an inoculation section? With associated video?

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

Drop the 'The'.

Inoculator

"Let's go on Inoculator"

I quite like that on its own. My only concern is the obscurity of the word but I suppose it fits the theme. Just seems a weird name for a roller coaster, doesn't exactly scream "loads of flipping inversions!"

They should call it that instead :D

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

Sounds more appropriate for an element of the ride, as opposed to the ride itself - but it's pretty cool either way.

How many legs did the plans show the 'spider' to have by the way?

Still a hundred times better than

"Let's go ride Rita"

:D

Re: [SW7] Marketing discussion

Just had a thought about X-Sector as a whole. SW7 could be where you are admitted to some kind of facility, Submission and Enterprise could be experiments that are carried out on you, and Oblivion is where you go when "they" are done with you. I thought that would be a nice way to tie the whole area together!

It wouldn't be the most obscure coaster out there, with coasters like Sheikra and Verbolten etc. have very strange names indeed. The problem is, it isn't even close to sounding like a coaster name. It's completely ridiculous and absurd, and I would refuse to call it that.
