That woman sure looks happy to be on that ride! :D The name is growing on me and when you look at the concept art you can see what they wanted to achieve with the logo and name.

I like the AT website. Particularly the Promo image which shows old Spidey! Hopefully confirms that we will be seeing it, when many people thought it was being cut.

The picture also shows OTSR. Cue discussion of whether its a stock image and we'll get lapbars or if its an official picture of the train!

So firstly, the trains don't look like Eurofighter cars. Secondly, they look floorless. And if they do carry OTSRs, I don't really care. That looks fantastic!

Nice B&M restraints there :p they just look like photoshopped floorless trains, I'd think the real trains will look quite different to the ones shown on a promotional image :)

Like Josh said, it's just a promo image so I wouldn't read too much into the cars. Remember the old park promo image that showed Nemesis cars on the red Corkscrew track?

I do think it's an amazing advert though. It says everything the ride is about :)

the smiler actually fits really well with that concept image- it makes sense!- its growing on me :p

so whats the inoculator then??

I'm just smiling now at the thought of all those people who posted saying they registered the trademark "The Smiler" to throw us off the scent and that it wasn't the real name of the ride.

I really like the name and think alongside the MOJ/Sancutary style storyline it's a perfect fit.

This ride isn't a happy smile.

Just something of interest about the name...

I've been saying that the ride would at least be called 'Smile' due to all the subliminal smile references since Setember:

I have a feeling the ride will be called "Smile". This is mainly because of the press release I read on the TS main site, where one of the lines reads "Lost your Smile?". Maybe that could be just a slip, but why does that have a capital letter. Even if I wasn't reading too much into that, we know the ride will be themed around the 'Ministry of Joy', and the graffiti seen around the park is of a...SMILE. Not only that, but the logo for the Sanctuary scare maze even has a smile in it.

If the rides not called Smile, then I at least think it will have a name with a similar meaning. But I'm having a hard time thinking of words that aren't something like "grin", which would be a terrible name for a rollercoaster.

But James correctly guessed the name back in October:

How about The Smile, The Smiler or The Smiling... guaranteed it doesn't immediately jump out as a name Alton Towers would use for a ride. However it's simple, easy to understand and fits into the concept brilliantly.

I just find it interesting that someone correctly guessed the name exactly! Just thought it should be highlighted...

Sorry to ruin this, but I didn't guess the name. I knew the name was The Smiler back in October. It was naughty of me to have posted that at the time really. :p

Well, this has made me feel stupid :(

No need to feel stupid. I would have assumed exactly the same. :)

Wish I did guess the name though, damn. :p
