[The Smiler] Construction Updates and Ride Speculation

Or glass screens in front of each row? Or headsets for each rider, under the guise if mind manipulation helmets on each seat.

Mist would be a bit inaffectual

Projections don't work very well in daylight.

But I do quite like the idea of a projection in a tunnel. Fill it with Oblivion esq mist then as you fly towards it the force of the car will push the mist away, make it look like the projected thing exploded in front of you.

Just posted on twitter..
@John_Wardley: I have received several messages regarding a secret element. I am limited to stating that there will be no rotating features, at all.

John Wardley doesn't have Twitter, that's a fake account so don't pay too much attention to what is tweeted :)

I've been studying the game video closely...

Well done. Your post seems to have gone under the radar somewhat.

15 inversions then? Super vigilant video watching picking up on those leg attachments. (Unless this is under discussion in the marketing topic, this being my disclaimer if it is haha!)

I can find absolutely no logical reason why you would not be spot on - obviously the aspects of each process are very guesswork based - but that is the most in depth estimation based on what we have so far.

He-he, I made comment about an interactive theme element a while back, as a few others did, I am not entirely sure even those of us who had hopes about this were expecting quite what this can turn out to be!

All conjecture of course, nothing surprises me with this ride now - and I am convinced that for effort and imagination, this could be one of the best rides on the planet, as well as a record beater, and world first.

Let's just hope it rides well!

There just can't be 15, even 14 is at a push.

Where is it going to fit?

To be honest I think they simply created a coaster out of steel, the way it came out of the ground.

Hard to argue with that screen capture as a potential clue though.

15 will be absolutely ridiculous lol!! Maybe this cute little face :twirly: (<3) makes even more sense when thought about like that?

15 lol.

15th could be just before the first lift hill, just after the post station inversion that we already know is present. Someone suggested a slow heartline roll with a trommel tunnel effect running that could disorientate you.

Personally, I could see this being how the supports and track are built - in the following order:

SupportampTrackPhases_zps65dac399.jpg

Phase 1: As we know, phase 1 was the building of the Batwing/Cobra Roll Element & the inversion under the station as well as the station track.

Phase 2: As we also know, phase 2 was the track above the toilets which included the pre drops from both lifts and half of both inversions which make up the inverted drops.

Phase 3: I would of thought they would want to get the track in underneath the maintenance shed before long as they have to have the maintenance building up a ready alongside the station (of which is having continuous work carried out on it). This could include some sort of secret element/track. This could also be completed before the main season starts (if X-Sector is to be open with the start of the main season) so that if there is a secret element it won't be revealed to the public as the park isn't open.

Phase 4: Could be done at the same time as Phase 3 - This phase is getting most of the middle section of the coaster done. This includes multiple inversions and elements; the first drop, both Dive Loops, both bunny hills, the Corkscrew after the Batwing, the mid-course break run, the sea serpent roll, both corkscrews (could be classed as a barrel roll of sorts) after the Cobra Roll & the final break run and track leading into the station.

Phase 5: Final construction phase which would see the vertical lift & first lift hill being put up into place along with the remaining track for the second inverted drop.

The reason it could be done like this is IF X-Sector is open at the start of the season there is enough room for the crane to put up track in the centre section and then final phase can be done with the crane coming from the access road to the left of the construction site. Another reason why the lift hills may be last is that we haven't seen any lift hill track on park as of yet whereas there is a lot of other track for the inversions and whatnot.

Sorry for the double post, but its on about something different to my above post:

Someone on ThemeParkReview posted this:

'A jab of happiness as you pass by Stage 1 of the marmalisation process'

But then seconds later he got rid of it, then replaced it with a quote of my post off there about the construction phases.

Strange? Fan made image? Any meaning to it?

Stalk the member for clues in other posts! ;)

Seems a strange thing to post, then take down again though?

It's real, but that's all I can say right now.

I'm sure someone will post the full image soon...

Being jabbed in the back from out of nowhere was exactly what was missing from my theme park experience! I really do hope this turns out to be true! ::)

I am hoping it is something far more subtle than that Mr Al!

I promise if this has back prodders, I will hunt JW down and prod him in the arm (gently of course, just to make a point)! You better not have John, you better not have!! *Shakes fist* ;)

Er, are you trying to take my mantle as most mysterious (etc) member? I wont stand for that young man!

Have to say though, with those strange clues in the video hinting at 15 inversions, and now that sign if accurate... what kind of ludicrous contraption are they building here? Has JW ACTUALLY lost his marbles, does he really need to be sent to The Sanctuary...

#getcorrected John!

:D ;D

So, there's potential for 15 inversions, wow! That definitely crashes down on the inversion record.

We have to remember that JW said that there was something secret that wouldn't be revealed until opening though. I know everyone thinks that the washing machine had gone, and trust me, I've always hated the idea of it, but, It's got to be something that's hidden, and seeing as we had the washing machine revealed, I would say that's still the best guess. And TT removing it could easily be a double bluff.

I'm on my new fangled telecommunications device! So if I spell anything wrong, I do apologise.

Can I just ask, where has this 15 inversions thing come from? As far as I was aware there was 14? That's all I managed to count from the 'Game Preview' anyway?

So it pretty much confirms the 5 arms / 5 stages - with the first being the arm covered in needles I guess - is this true to the video?
