New mini-show: Invisible Band

What did everyone think of the new invisible band show who saw the preview today? :)

I thought it was great! A lot of fun, really well produced and exactly the direction Towers entertainment should be going: more spontaneous and street based. Something to chance upon and be delighted by.

Ents are just on fire right now - The Park Keeper walkabout characters are fab in themselves, so having the awesome invisible band sketch was an amazing touch (and one that will be working its way around the park in the coming months!)

The new Sir Algenon actor over at ATH was also fabulous: having him interact with us over dinner in Secret Garden really hammered home that we were in a quality theme park resort (as long as you ignore Pirate Bill ;))

Ents have had a great opening weekend with the sanctuary, the pirate show and the band they all seemed well planned with everyone enjoying it

It was brilliant! Considering that was the first time they had done it on park (I think) it worked really really well. It will be great when they can move it around the park later in the year.

Ents really have been brilliant this weekend. Everything they have been involved in has been top notch. We saw the Park Keeper walk about characters, but there are also Drizzle Chasers (the UK's equivalent to storm chasers) that are dressed in wet suits and snorkels etc. Looking forward to seeing them in the future as well!

:)

I didn't particularly enjoy it, but I blame that on being aggetated all day from being ill. I did like the way they walked off at the end, just saying 'nothing to see here', that was kidna funny.

If it can be consistent then they've a winner on their hands!

This is something we have been asking for, for years.

It was fun, quirky, and enjoyable. I look forward to seeing them on park again in the future.

This would be really great to put elsewhere now and again. May be the courtyard by Hex could have this? It would be a good crowd drawer there!

Nice to see entertainments is somewhat expanding (even if it is very slowly expanding) - hopefully this may lead up to the eventual introduction of an indoor multi-entertainment show aimed at all age groups.

For now though, this is great! Well done to them!

The plan seems to be that this mini-show will be done around the park, they are awaiting some special equipment that will allow the audio to be more portable. They did this in the courtyard as until they have that facility this was the only place with a sound-system they could stick the audio on.

I really enjoyed this mini-show and as you can see on the video it was a big hit with the families in the area too. We where there as we had been pre-warned but within about 2 minutes of the show starting the crowd in the courtyard doubled (and it was a very quiet day).

Also nice to see the pirate show is engaging people more, it seemed to have big audiences even though it was a quiet day. Not something you used to see.

I really enjoyed it, the new characters were brilliant in interacting with us and had a wonderful funny flair that appealed massively to the audience who were just watching the Pirate show (which was also really good this year)! I hope they get more placements around the park as well as create a bigger demand for street entertainment.

I thought this was fabulous! I really enjoyed it yesterday, very imaginative and seemed to really appeal to the large bunch of people who stayed after the pirate show to watch. The interaction with guests was brilliant and I loved the humour between the actors. I totally agree with Astro, if they manage to make it work around the park then it will be a great hit with guests!

Fantastic entertainment. Utterly fantastic. Look forward to seeing the mutiny bay show also.

Haha love the ending - "go on, get going. Especially you geeks." :p

That bit was hilarious :p

I'm not really one for shows at a theme park unfortunately. I get why they're done and think they're a fantastic idea, but they're just not for me.

Having said that though, I thought this show was an absolutely fantastic display and kept me really entertained throughout. The interaction between the cast was fantastic, the timing when playing the instruments spot on and the pacing just right. Also thought it was a really good idea that they had pulled a couple of children out of the crowd to help them out. Once this goes mobile and can be done around other areas of the park it'll be fantastic for other guests.

It was also nice to see other actors roaming the park this weekend, particularly on the Sunday. Ents really seem to have stepped their game up this year, I hope they keep it going through the season :)

As Dave mentioned, they are in the process of building a vehicle of some sorts that will allow them to move this entertainment around; the vehicle will have a sound system built into it. However it is a large project for entertainments and will not be ready til around June sometime. The plan is to use it in, around and between Towers Street and Mutiny Bay.

:)

Brilliant stuff!

This is what Alton really should be pushing: unique, spontaneous, fun entertainment. Well done the entertainments team for this, keep it up.

Just watched the video on the previous page and sat through it with a great big grin on my face. This is exactly the kind of thing ents need to be doing and looks absolutely brilliant! :)

I think it speaks volumes that within moments of the show starting kids were joining in with it and they actors played along with it and it gave the show a proper family feel.

The buzz it created in the court yard was fantastic, it's just what the park needs to move the entertainment department forward, you can tell that the team running Ents this year really care about what is happening on park, not just from a experience point of view but also from an art point of view. Which gives it that feeling of quality some productions in the past have lacked.

That was awesome. I have said it before and i will say it again, The magic is there, the ents team have it, (i think they found the key to the room it was locked in :D )

I did spot a member of staff lurking in the background of that video, is it Mr Cliff?
