Yes it was! :p I never planned to buy it but it was cheaper than previous ones so we decided to go for it. :D

I've got one of those towers logo ones somewhere!

Also a few months ago I acquired an Alton towers Fun Club pin badge. Will dig out a photo when I get time.

Big Al if you havn't got a fun club i'll galdy send you 1 free I have loads of them I used to pin them to all the costume characters so I kept them all.So if you pm me your address I will send you 1. I can't seem to upload my pin badges if any one can do this for me I have pin badges from 1988 onwards including a Gold Henry pin badge that was a reward badge for staff who worked well. Plus staff badges and entertainment badges for delivering the magic all metal.

...blaming this topic for the amount of time I've just spent faffing on eBay trying to find things to brighten up and personalise the ID lanyard I wear for work a little bit :) Fortunately (for my wallet) nothing very interesting came up - I have the current Nemesis one, as well as one of the old logo that I bought online years ago, and there's a Valhalla badge on my windowsill somewhere, along with a REALLY ugly one from Rameses Revenge.
I have moments of being a bit of a geek with such things (I'd pay handsomely if anyone ever found one from Katun!!), but for whatever reason ended up letting my ex run off with a lot of my collection. Such is life, I guess :)

same here. its annoying when badges dissapear. I'm rooting through old boxes to find some disney pin badges. what are the fun club badges?

The Fun Club Badges were for the kids club from 1994 to 1998 they are metal with coloured enamel with Alton Towers Fun club on them. They sent out magazines 4 times a year with prizes and the chance to meet the characters after shows. And had cartoon pages of what the characters were up to. And were they lived in the various places over the towers they really thought about things then giving everything a back ground. They sent out stickers 'baseball caps 't shirts'and special offers 'wall sheets were kids collected stickers of the rides to put on them lots of things.Even special passport book with your photo in them to show as you entered the park.

Why can't they do these now, I would do anything for a collection of Alton towers pin badges, look how well Disneylands do!

Some are fairly self explanatory, but I'm sure he'll be happy to explain the others. :)

I have an adoration for Pin Badges, not sure why really. I currently have three that I wear on my jacket; One work based, one Alton, and one other. See if you can spot what they are, although they're pretty self explanatory!

I love the Fun Club badges, but alas, never had the chance to get one! When things like that pop up online, I jump at the chance, although nowadays these times are few and far between.

Do you mean the staff name badges that staff wore last year? They were new last year, so I imagine staff had to give them in and they will be used again this year.

Or are you talking about something else?
