Ok, it isn't anyones favorite ride (is it? ) but does anyone know if it is, or will be once the Smiler opens, returning to running both arms together?

I think pictures of it running in such a way are great, specially at night and I do usually take a lot of pics for TR's, just wondered if anyone know either way what the plans are for it.

From what I've heard, both arms are now functioning separately but not together as of yet. I agree that it did look great when they were running together, and I hope that they solve the problem and we see it like that come summer when it gets really busy.

I don't know personally, but from what others have said, both arms are working again, although they still cant get them working at the same time. :/ ( for whatever reason. )

The back arm basically was stripped of all of its components in years gone by to keep one 'good' arm. Now they have replaced said parts and it is back in working order.

Even if only one arm works at a time, this should make sure there is no downtime, which will be essential when The Smiler opens.

I do though hope they get both arms working at the same time, I quite actually like submission... I would still say it 'thrills' me, maybe because I don't like being held upside down by my gonads. I would always ride it when I visit, unless there is more than a 10 minute Que. (which is rare)

I cant remember the name of the two 'pirate ships' at DMP that held you upside down? but they had a major influence on me as a child & why I'm scared of Subs.

Cheers for the replys folks, I have seen both arms running over the years, but its a long time since I saw both going together.

If your meaning the same kind of ride Flaimingoland had, it was just called a Sky Flyer there, and up until I nearly put my head through the roof of it, I used to enjoy it!

Pandemonium.

Pandemonium is the current Fabri model, but I believe years ago they used to have the much older, cruder, arguably more fun traveling "Skyflyer" model. It's name escapes me though.

The one at DMP was literally just called Skyflyer (imaginative) and were awful attractions.

It was the 'sky flyer' I was on about. I must admit I'm with diogo on that one, that they are rather fun, then again, fun to me is being scared S***less, which they never failed to do. The dodgier the better.

If this counts, I remember going on one of these:

a really long time ago, and quite liking it - admittedly, this was in my pre-enthusiast days, but I still remember it being a lot better than Submission - but you never see inverting pirate ships any more!

What about Lightwater Valley?

It's true, although there's quite a few left, one hasn't been produced in quite a few years and the only one at a major park that I can think of is Phoenix at Busch Gardens.

The "looping starship" linked above is a different model made by Intamin. The ride pictured above is a Weber Dreamboat (Traumboot). I think the one at LWV is the same one that used to be at Alton Towers, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

That is possibly the most travelled park ride in the UK. It's been at Margate, Towers, Loudoun Castle and LWV as far as I know. Possibly even more! :p

It also did a stint at Adventure Island.

Ah yes, I did know that one had done a very brief stint at Alton Towers, but didn't realise there was still one doing the rounds, having not been to LWV since 2009. You learn something new every day :)

There was one at Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes until.... 2001ish - same one? :)

Poor ride!! Why did no one like it I wonder?

Some cursory reading (AMA) suggests it was planning AGAIN that resulted in this not stopping at Alton.

Without doing too much research, that does sound logical. Doesn't explain why so many other parks moved it on though?

Looks decent to me.
