I have noticed though that none of the season pass people have had any compensation for the delays. The regular visitors have been given free days. What i think they should do is maybe give all season pass people a free hot drink, maybe after 3pm at one of their eating establishments, maybe the Burger Kitchen. You know just as a thank you for being loyal :)

They have not promoted this at all, but I believe Annual Pass holders have been able to extend the life of their pass by a month for free is they went to the Box Office. I rather stupidly forgot about this when I was there on Saturday!

:)

I was only offered fast-tracks for use on that day. I did enquire about the extra month but apparently that was not possible.

We both had our pass extended by a month, great CS from Alton if you ask me.

Well that depends... Great customer service for you but if the previous person was declined that is poor communication and therefore poor CS. If person A was declined an extra month and Person B was allowed an extra month there is something wrong there.

Our group were given a fastrack pass which lets us choose three rides each to use our free fastrack tickets on when we next visit. There was eight of us when we asked which means a total of 24 individual ride fastracks. I'd rather have been given the MAP extension but it sounds like it varies depending on who's serving you in Guest Services at the time. They should probably make sure that everyone gets the same treatment with this kind of thing to avoid potentially further upsetting guests.

Agreed BigAl, our group got nothing. It would be good if they got all annual pass holders that were on park Thursday and Friday last week and just added a month onto their passes and dropped them all an email saying as much. That would be excellent customer service and reward those, like me, that thinks that they are having a hard enough time without me complaining to them.

From the Krave Facebook page:

It's looking good for the next few days now! :)

If it wasn't for Me Twirly on that, you'd think the Krave people were off to BGW to ride Verbolten! :p

^ There are still 3 trim fins on the second airtime hill, they're just retracted as all. You can just about see one of them, the goldish colour below the rails. Second mechanism from the left. Still though, that's a lot better than all 6 they originally had installed. Hopefully they stay retracted though. :p

Well... Those trims didn't last long!
They should just remove them all and then remove the walkway, death be upon trims! we have seen it running perfectly without them :twirly:

By "running perfectly" I presume you mean it completing a full circuit, just how safe or how close to acceptable limits the ride was remains to be seen! It's not as if they add the trims just for the sake of it, we have seen it bombing around where it almost seemed like it was too forceful.

Ignoring the supposed stall of a train and when the 2nd train with new unworn-in wheels was going slow I'd say retractable trims were an important safety feature.

Indeed the trims are just retracted on that photo. No harm in leaving some of them on there just in case they are needed.

I'm glad all of the mesh has been painted, it looks so much better now.

:)

I didn't think that they could remove trims that fast anyway! :p

I only saw the person post it on Twitter and a page said that they'd been removed so I just took it as the truth as a few people had said so.

Well knowone died when it was without trims so that's good enough for me.

Trims should be used as a proactive measure rather than a reactive measure.

They should be built into the plan to keep the ride safe rather than put in afterwards after something happens or after it affects the ride.

See Th13teen, trims were added after the ride opened to fix downtime problems but the ride wasn't planned to have them and the experience has been somewhat ruined with them.

As far as I know the trims will not affect regular operations of the ride.

:)

I believe they are merely on about the competition that they are running that allows people to win VIP prizes to do with The Smiler. The 'challenges' competition starts on the 3rd June. That's probably what they are on about.

Still though, no good winning prizes if the ride's not open! :p

Well again, like I have previously stated they need to get it open by Friday as the website still says JOIN US... MAY 2013, If they don't there may be trouble..
