Unusual views of Alton Towers... from afar!

It's pretty amazing how they have actually kept the majority of the theme park hidden from the outside world just by using trees and such.

Very good pictures there,I always love looking at the obscure views of the park,I always like looking through the trees in the car on the way and trying to catch a view of oblivion and possibly the smiler,a lot easier when the trees are without leaves

I know, a cloaking device would have been so much cooler though! ;D

Seriously though, great pics as always Rob mate.

I was looking at the smiler and it looked like they had painted the rails yellow! o.0 But then I realised it was probably just sunlight reflecting off the track. :( It would look much nicer IMO with yellow rails and black spines.

The Smiler is still standing! ;) And incidentally, the Marmaliser screen was on today:

Or have they painted them yellow? Im unsure... *Strokes chin*

Or it could be the marking and rubbing of tbe yellow wheels onto the running rails.

They wouldn't have painted it yellow, but towards the end of the season where the wheels rub on the track there were a yellow/cream coming through, which most likely is the undercoat of the paint.

^ Maybe, but where the pieces of track join together, the square shaped thing in the middle of the track is yellow. :/

It won't be yellow. They wouldn't ever be able to get away with a colour that bright when the ride is so visible.

These pictures are fantastic. I love the way AT is hidden away, like a dirty little secret really makes the place special. Flamingo land, Blackpool you can see too much. Whilst AT it just blends in, also makes the slight glimpses of the rides even more intriguing.

It does make it magical. I love how looking at Nemmy and Air you can't really tell that there is a theme park there; just looks like two coasters built in a wood.

Great photos though, really nice!
