I had bacon this morning (along with sausage and egg) after a rather rough night. Never have I ever had something as delicious and wonderful as that.

I pity the various peoples of the world who are forbiden to eat bacon. It's no wonder they are always fighting eachother.
 
Just to be controversial: salt-ridden, heart attack-inducing pauper's meat.

...but in a soft white bun, few things come close.
 
I quite like bacon, but I hate the weird deification and fetishisation of it.

It's a salty strip of dead pig, not a bar of gold. If it means that much to you, maybe you need to get out more.
 
I'm sorry, but if there is to be a king of meats, then it is not the humble bacon, but the succulent Christmas Turkey.

Bacon is much better than a bar of gold. It's cheaper and you can eat it. The only reason I can think of for leaving the house is to buy more bacon. I don't know why you'd want to otherwise.

Seriously, can a perfectly harmless thread not exist here without being moaned about by a bunch of overly analytical misanthropes?

Some people on this forum seriously need to lighten up. It's not even funny any more. It's got to the stage that people will not bother starting threads in future as they will fear ridicule (especially newer members).

Someone has started a lighthearted thread here that was obviously aimed at people who liked a certain kind of food and would allow them to share a few thoughts/funnies about it.

It is called "The Bacon Appreciation Topic". The title should be a clue.

There are hundreds of threads that I see each year that I have negative thoughts about, but if I was to comment on most of them then the forum would just become a war-zone. Let's take the CBeeBies thread for example. You're all bored to the point that you will spend hours deliberating about an area that - unless you have small children - people are gonna think you're paedo's for going in and taking photo's anyway. Who cares?

We all like the occasional moan (some more than others) but some people on this forum just seem to be hell-bent on continually being negative whatever the topic.

If anything, it's actually detracting from the common sense and intelligence that some of them quite clearly have in abundance.

Yes, lets stop being so dower and stretch a joke which is funny for approximately 30 seconds to a lengthy discussion for which the conversations extent will be:

"I like bacon"

"No way! I like bacon too!!"

"I don't like bacon"

"OMG, that guy doesn't like bacon!"

The other day i opened a pack of bacon that quite clearly stated it contained six slices. Said pack actually contained seven.

Is there anything more awesome than free bacon?
