2018: Wicker Man - General Discussion - SPOILERS! - Part One

I thought worlds firsts couldn't get anymore ridiculous after Galactica but they have. If the effects are working it will offer some excitement for those around the ride and draw attention to the ride but I think the preshow will be a very significant part of the experience (similar to Baron...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

They probably think that having a Mack mega next year will make the park irresistible so removing the wild mouse would have been considered minimal impact on guest numbers

2018: Wicker Man - General Discussion - SPOILERS! - Part One

AT is a theme park and all the indications point towards SW8 being in Munity Bay and from current teasers it looks as if SW8 has no link with pirates. So I don't think there is overreactions mainly because AT is a THEME PARK not an amusement park with poorly themed rides dumped anywhere with space.

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

Personally I think that Blackpool need to have a focus on heritage and continued upkeep of existing woodies and I am more annoyed than sad at the removal of the wild mouse as I believe we should have been given the chance to give it a proper farewell. However I would have been completely fine if...

2018: Wicker Man - General Discussion - SPOILERS! - Part One

Currently I believe that the park is an absolute shambles when it comes to theming and I think SW8 will only make it worse in Munity Bay as post flume removal it actually was not to bad for continuity unlike dark forest and FV

2018: Wicker Man - General Discussion - SPOILERS! - Part One

Hope Mondays announcement brings an official announcement of the name and location. As well as the start of the first wave of marketing.

    2018: General Discussion

It will be interesting to see if any of the GP try to gain entry at Scarefest with a season pass only to end up coughing up another 50 odd quid to enter to avoid a wasted trip.

    Virtual Lines

By doubling each persons presence in volcano bay you basically need the wave pool and lazy rivers to handle everyone in the park which is not feasible and leads to queues for lazy rivers. I enjoyed volcano bay but sitting around on deck chairs for most of the day was boring and led to us leaving...

    2018: General Discussion

Pretty good value even with the blackout dates and a visit to Scarefest and fireworks. Will be interesting to see how popular it proves with folk on this site and with the public in general.

Merlin Annual Pass Changes - November 2017

Alton Towers have just announced their season pass for £55. Good value however does blackout Scarefest, Fireworks and select dates in August and Septemeber

    Virtual Lines

Don't think Alton and all other UK parks have the attendance to justify let alone enough supporting rides and attractions to stop the Volcano Bay situation. Virtual queues should be reserved for large attendance parks like your Magic Mountains, Cedar Point and Disney and Universal.

2018: Wicker Man - General Discussion - SPOILERS! - Part One

This will become more common especially with future SW's if drones continue to become more available but could also be used for AT for future teasers for SW's.

    Virtual Lines

I thought it would be good to start a thread for discussion on virtual lines and their implication and application. I will use my experiences of Volcano Bay, Race through New York and Kraken Unleashed, all during peak summer time. Despite the good intentions with Volcano Bay the implementation...

Merlin Annual Pass Changes - November 2017

If theme parks were at around £120 max I think it would be fair. Unfortunately Merlin will always overprice especially with separate passes but if priced reasonably would probably be quite popular.

Merlin Annual Pass Changes - November 2017

I think the MAP could be improved by offering a theme parks pass, Midway pass and the full pass. This I believe would keep the pass more affordable for those not interested in the parks or midway attractions. I also think the MAP should give benefits internationally like one day of free entry...

Merlin Annual Pass Changes - November 2017

Maybe shares are slightly undervalued but a predicted strong year for one park won't boost shares massively due to their comprehensive portfolio but if AT can recover hugely due to SW8 and in 2019 that will boost shares attendance growth at Towers between 18 and 19 is critical for Towers and for...

    2023: Mack BigDipper

Does RCDB not only listed near enough confirmed coasters and don't remember anything from EP to suggest a new coaster?

What developments will happen after 2018?

Duel won't last another 10 years even with TLC but Gloomy Wood should be targeted for development alongside dark forest in the future as well as the continued upkeep of the rest of the park. Also depending on SW8 RMT may also need to go if SW8 is a hit with families and that would leave two...

    TBC: SW9 Speculation

For me SW9 has to be a replacement of Rita and alongside it a rehab of dark forest to make it fully coherent or a complete retheme however this is unlikely as thirteen fits well in dark forest and is still a solid ride despite my opinions on it. In preparation for SW9 a flats should be installed...

    2018: General Discussion

Having just returned to the forum after a sabbatical but still following SW8 teasers I was convinced that SW8 was going to be in Katanga canyon but having seen the photo which shows an apparent entrance in munity bay I am baffled and can't see it working in mutiny bay at all
