That was a real project but I think it has been delayed or cancelled. I think the feeling was that BGT had enough family friendly coasters with Cheetah Hunt, Cobra's Curse, Scorpion, & Sand Serpent already and they really wanted a statement ride instead.

Everyone I talk to these days seems to have a scoop on BGT 2024.
Intamin LSM Launch coaster of some form seems almost nailed on at this point (obviously everyone could be entirely wrong, but I have no reason to be massively doubtful as sources have been reliable in the past), but I am also...
There are rumors flying around on Inside Universal and other places about a DreamWorks retheme to the KidZone area of Universal Studios Florida for 2024. Possibly opening with a rethemed kiddie coaster, play area, and new family flat rides in the spring/summer of 2024, and then with a new dark...
You would assume that the track profile giving airtime + the seats getting airtime = guests getting even more airtime, I'm no expert but that seems like the aim here. Seems like the seat motion could also serve to cushion positive forces.
I think not because it will be gravity driven so perfectly in line with the track manoeuvres. For example when going over an airtime hill the seats will lift up. You can see it in this video:
The ride has been named Pipeline. It will have a surfing theme, top speed of 60mph, 110ft tall, and the seats will bounce up and down to mimic surfing across waves.
The park have announced the new ride will be known as Serengeti Flyer, it will be the 40 seater model and will be tied with Tidal Surge at SeaWorld San Antonio as the tallest & fastest in the world.
It looks quite imposing in person.
Orlando and Tampa got off fairly well, some flooding and strong winds but no devastation here, cosmetic damage rather than structural for the most part. Could have been very different though had the storm tracked differently, I really feel for those in southwest florida.
DarKoaster's capacity would be insufficient for a major attraction at Alton Towers. The ride only operates with two 10 passenger trains.
This is not to say that some sort of other indoor coaster could not work though. Something like Revenge of the Mummy is what I'm hoping for but we shall see.
If it is an indoor roller coaster, and it has new impressive tech as John Wardley’s comments suggest, I would wager the kuka arm roller coaster being build at Epic Universe in Florida has a good chance of coming to Alton Towers.
Combine Revenge of the Mummy with the kuka robo arms and show...
Tidal Wave and Gwazi closed in the mid 2010s, since then though nothing of note has closed. In a way Gwazi’s closure was cancelled out by Cobra’s Curse, as there was no ride/coaster in its place prior to it opening in 2016. Phoenix is SBNO but that will be replaced soon.
Will be the same size as Tidal Surge, I believe.
As Brad said, old rhino rally site behind the Elephants. Phase 1 of a new mini area, phase 2 rumored to be the giga coaster in 2025/2026. This will be after the Jungala GCI in 2024.
