    Chessington World of Adventures Resort

I'm really hoping this is unfinished and turns out to be just the base for some proper rock theming on top. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Right, okay the dragon is gone. I don't like the fact but, I can understand that a dragon doesn't mix with the whole tiger thing, fine. But what they have done here is not created a cave, but created a dragon that appears to have now been preserved under lava rock from Pompeii or something! I...

    Major Operational Changes for 2018

I honestly can't work out if Merlin are just deluded or totally arrogant! I am honestly so sad about how all the parks (now just Towers) have become. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Gotta go round the park in one direction now? What is this, IKEA Towers?? Thank feck I didn't renew my pass! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Fireworks 2016

Better for who? Certainly not the guests, but I guess for Merlin fat cats yeah. More payed for tickets equals more profit, but never mind the MAP second class citizens. If that's the reason they've done it the way they have then shame on them. They need to be winning people over, not sending...

    Fireworks 2016

Surely Towers should have done a pre booked ticket system for everyone? Thorpe does this on special events, even MAP holders have to book, even if there's no charge. This will inform all guests whether they can enter the park prior to the day in question, and Towers have a clear idea of how...

    2016: The Smiler Reopening

What really gets my goat is all this talk and reporting from media and certain victims of the crash stating that the ride is somehow "unsafe". It wasn't a ride fault that caused the crash, in fact the ride did exactly what it was meant to do, stopping itself to avoid a crash. It was HUMAN...

    Brit Pop Appreciation Thread

Nice thread! Personally, I like Blur but have always loved Oasis far more! Noel Gallagher is the reason I picked up a guitar for first time and have played ever since. However, although Blur, Oasis and Pulp are the obvious choices I'm going for a couple of forgotten gems. Remember the sitcom...

    Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Good news indeed. In the interest of balance, since everybody (including myself) were disgusted by the blue fence around the interactive tree in Wild Asia, I am pleased to report it has been replaced by a themed fence. Partaking in geekery since 1985

    Media Coverage of Alton Towers

People were left "dangling". Oh, and passengers were "screaming and crying, sounding petrified" apparently. Yeah, great "journalism", bravo! Partaking in geekery since 1985

    Major Ride Closures 2016

Wobble World is one that's annoyed me. Last year my daughter (was 4 years old then) came bouncing out of Wobble World just to shout to me "THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!!" Surely as attractions go this one is relatively inexpensive to run? Why close it??

    Ride/Park Accidents

If he didn't die on impact, and if he wasn't paralysed by the fall, he bloody well would be after the PIGGYBACK he received! Dear god!!

    Liking Th13teen

During the day you come in from the daylight so your eyes don't have a chance to adjust to the dark. Obviously at night they are already adjusted before you even enter the building.

    Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

With regards to changing the detectors from optical to heat detectors, it isn't exactly the hardest and most time consuming job. It shouldn't take a competent alarm engineer any more than an hour to swap a few heads and do a relearn on the fire panel if it's an addressable system. Really no...

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Yeah, it's the Sunken Garden behind Stealth. A spot to sit away from the hoards of people, in fact last time I was there not a single person went past in 25 minutes!
