    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

I had a look through Pleasure Beach's TripAdvisor for April 24, and it struck me that so many people are complaining about the same thing; e-ticket scanning on the rides. We all know that Pleasure Beach ignores enthusiasts, but I find it absolutely baffling that they also refuse to listen to...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

I'm really worried about the future of this park, it just feels like it's on its last legs. SBNO rides, very short opening hours most weekends of the season, and hardly anyone in the park even on weekends. BPB is such a special park and I can't imagine the UK industry without it, but things...

    Adventure Island: General Discussion

Yes, a replica of a scheme that was created and announced by Boris Johnson. He is literally responsible for it even existing.

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

Hyperia's queue-line (so far) looks appalling, and it's a real shame that they have picked such cheap and nasty fencing for the guest-facing areas of the ride area. Such a missed opportunity.

    Adventure Island: General Discussion

It's bizarre that Adventure Island have omitted the Conservatives from their list in the post below, even though ULEZ was originally planned and announced by Boris Johnson. From: https://x.com/Adv_Island/status/1775522292501495979 Pretty disgusting for the park to be promoting a party of...

    Oakwood Discussion

I think it's a shame Oakwood doesn't attract more customers; surely with it being the only theme park in Wales, there is a captive audience there? Agree that lack of investment is likely to be the main cause for this; whilst, as enthusiasts, it's worth the trip for us for Megafobia alone...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

I absolutely loved the Coney Island Cyclone when I rode it in 2019, one of the best coasters I've ever ridden. Grand National is sentimental for me, but I can also separate sentiment with quality, and whilst I agree the ride isn't as good as it used to be, I still thoroughly enjoy it. It's...

    Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

We queued for Oblivion around 11am, at that point the announcement being played was the standard technical delay one. Not sure what they were saying later on as we didn't return to X-Sector at all.

    Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

Alton Towers was dreadful yesterday, one of the worst days I've ever had at a park. Wicker Man only running two trains, despite being one of the only coasters ready to open at 10am, was a joke. Rita only running one train with a queue reaching 100 minutes at points, again, inexcusable...

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Disagree with this, I think the best parks have 1 or 2 dark themed attractions to balance with the more vibrant ones, it doesn't have to be strictly one or the other. I have no knowledge of Ready Player One personally, but I do think a happy, vibrant park can still have a few darker...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

Anybody know what's happening with River Caves? It's been closed since after the first weekend of the season, and I don't believe it was mentioned in the season launch today when talking about investments being made to the other dark rides.

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

You're being really unnecessarily rude about all this. It's just a roller coaster that I enjoy and you don't, why is that so hard to understand?

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

I think perhaps the issue here may be that you seem unable to consider the idea that other people have different opinions to yourself. I've been riding it since 2004, it was brilliant then, still a great coaster now but I wish they'd give it a bigger-scale refurb to bring it back to its best.

Putting across your opinion as if it's fact, and as if everyone else has to think exactly the same as you, is an unhealthy trait.

    Merlin Entertainments: General Discussion

In 2018, the CEO of Merlin Entertainments took home a salary of £1,493,000. https://www.erieri.com/executive/salary/nick-varney-8ydw Meanwhile, the company failed to pay minimum wage to 1,100 employees, equating to £43,000. Taken from the CEO's salary, this would have still left £1,450,000...
