The main problem with Galactica is just how bare it all looks compared to the rest of Forbidden Valley, especially Nemesis now. It's a good ride to have as it's in that middle ground between high thrill rides like Nemesis and kids rids like RMT, it just needs enhancing and given a better theme.

I don't know what it is with the theme parks in Japan but queues are generally horrendous at most of the major parks. We went to Fuji Q on a cold day in October and all the major coasters were at least 3 hours with Disney being the same on the big rides.

We had the same optimism when Merlin first took over from the god awful DIC Tussauds era when they installed Mutiny Bay and Wild Asia. These new regimes all start off the same, we just have to hope they carry the same momentum going into the future.

Can't say I'm surprised by this news, the parks core infrastructure has been neglected over the past decade it was bound to bite them in the arse eventually. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Frankensteins Monorail when that inevitably needs a fortune spending on it.

Credit to the artists who worked on the monster, the fleshy bits look very good. Hopefully it will age a bit better aswell being a darker colour.

Hopefully they'll revisit the Port Discovery idea, they could theme the area as an excavasion site. The marmaliser could be some sort of Victorian era steam powered drone catching contraption similar to thing in the Wild Wild West film.
