    Fireworks 2015

Having never actually visited Alton Towers Fireworks before, I found Friday's show to be a very entertaining display, though there are still minor points I picked up on that could have been improved upon. Anyway, on with a (spoiler heavy) review...

    RCT3... On the app store!

This is a very interesting development, but I can't help but think that it is rather strange for Frontier to put effort into this after Coaster Crazy which was actually a very good game. Hopefully none of the customisation options of the desktop game have been lost, but whatever is left will no...

The Smiler: What does the future hold?

Personally I don't think this is a reason not to open The Smiler, it will be at least several years until people stop associating Alton Towers with 'that crash' - especially after the widespread media coverage. For many seasons to come the incident will still be in people's minds. The only...

    Scarefest 2015

Even if it is anything to do with the leaked info or last minute changes, that surely wouldn't stop them from releasing information about one of the smaller, family attractions that remain fairly consistent from year to year? Just the event's dates or other similar info would be far easier to...

We've gone all secure on you...

Not a huge issue, but I (randomly! :p) noticed tonight that since the site has moved over to HTTPS browsers throw a tantrum at loading the Mibbit chat widget over HTTP.

    "Danger of Death"

From my (limited) observations of the HSE, it seems like they would be more interested in physically preventing entry with something like more secure fencing than warning people of the danger. If this was a demand from the HSE then I would imagine something a bit more substantial than signs.

    Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

Ride control system/procedure alterations should be the focus of improvements. Stalling is a (relatively) common occurrence in the industry, two trains being in the same block is not. On the subject of stalling, I doubt a normal, safe evacuation would take 4 hours - the nature of injuries would...

    Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

I haven't got the words. That article is quite frankly insulting to the ride staff to suggest that at a point in the accident where nobody could do anything, the car could have been stopped.

    Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

Oh without a doubt! I was referencing more the fact that at the moment, before details of what caused the event have been released, we can't blame Merlin for inadequate safety as the media seem to be using Varney's quote as an excuse for. Safeguards definitely need to be implemented to prevent...

    Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

Whilst I cannot deny that Nick Varney did indeed say during the interview that safety measures on The Smiler "weren't adequate", I think it's the way in which this is being interpreted that is incorrect. I'm sure that many members of the public - and quite clearly as a result of the media - are...

To add verification, this is given in an announcement on the homepage of altontowers.com.

Something that is getting annoying now

If the craft was only coming into the station, then surely it would still be in the last block as well so the system wouldn't allow the craft to proceed on the lift?

    Claims to Fame

My dad went to school with Robbie Williams (and my grandparents are subsequently minor friends with his dad). Helen Skelton asked me if I was in the queue for Millie's Cookies at Euston Station - who bought a ridiculous amount of cookies! :P I've been in the same studio as many artists such as...

Completely missed that. Things are really getting bad - it's as if no merch or media is ever checked.

... slightly less of a huge mistake, but according to this Rita die-cast model you are catapulted to only 42mph!

    Nemesis94's TheSmiler13

Wow! This is just crazily good and undoubtedly the best recreation I have ever seen. Everything is just so meticulously implemented with care and detail. Well done @JAMMYD778 and Nemesis94, I look forward to every update and hopefully a final release! :)

    Welcome To Your New Forum!

I second this entirely. Aside from a responsive design, probably the most useful feature for all touch devices in XenForo for me is that the thread link takes you straight to the first unread post. Before I always had to zoom in to hit the tiny 'new' button next to each thread.

    Welcome To Your New Forum!

As many people have already said, a huge thank you to the team and new forum ambassadors for the smooth transition to XenForo. Everything feels so smooth (thanks to the updated design/UI), logical and accessible (the help widget is a great addition!), I doubt it will take long to get to grips...
