In case anyone is looking at this planning a trip.... We got a cab from Stoke Station to Alton Towers hotel using Auto Cab Private Hire. It was hassle free and cost £19. I used them for the return trip too

I second this place. We stayed very recently and it was great walking to the park across the fields and then through the staff car park. Saves on parking and quicker than parking and then monorail. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great, in a lovely room with great views...
