Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins

It’s possible that they have already priced according to demand. Don’t forget there used to be massive queues for food at all times on even half-busy days. Yes, service and capacity was poor, but either way the queues have largely gone. They might have hit the optimum price, or possibly gone a...

    Hex: The Future

As you say, open to interpretation/spin. She is very experienced in PR and has politician-like answering style at times (no offence intended). Hex could be a deliberate delay to get a boost later in the season, but also easily just an emergent issue that has stopped it opening at the start of...

    Potential New Universal UK Park

And, they've finally realised how many fairly well-off people from the United Kingdom come to their parks and realise there would probably be a massive domestic British appetite for it without having to pay £15-£20k a family trip. Would have thought Uncle Walt would have woken up to this one...

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

Whatever the maximum wind speed limit is, it should be no more than 1 mph more than the speed in that video!

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

Personally I would like to see this verified as, by my reckoning, a true a freefall from 70 metres (which this is not) can only hit 83 mph.

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

I would go further and say it was probably designed that way originally. Get the height (and as an effect, speed) and make whatever track you can for the remaining few million quid as this cast-iron budget allows, which in real terms is much less than Swarm and Smiler...AND, to top it all, if Mr...

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

That's simply a case of the height of those inversions. I am not sure it will suddenly fly through the slow bits. The first transition (I can't keep up with what we are calling an inversion on this) looked pretty fast on the first run, if the whole ride speeds up massively I'm not sure that'd be...

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

It drops from over 200 feet, it could have been about double the length and be filled with airtime had they wanted/had the money.

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

Think I always expected it to crawl through that outer bank. I thought the slow hang time was why people were so excited about it. Given the comments today, I see now that many expected it to fly through there, which probably would have been good in a different way.

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

Major hang from the first drop given the chain speed setting. Entered the first element much faster than I thought though.

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

Artistic swoop down shots, with the drone semi-chasing the train and twisting around angles, etc, etc?

Would have been better Madame Tussaud’s themed.

*Design*? Unless there's sadism involved, surely no one put creative thought into that.

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

Utterly awful. What is the logic for the high fences anyway? Will they be covered over like the Smiler cages?

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

Not sure I want to see, if it’s anywhere near as bad as the Smiler.

If he's true to his word, he will get some more trees, vines and wraiths in the Dark Forest.

Weird that it's not listed anywhere for pre-sale etc.

    Potential New Universal UK Park

More concerning than anything else? There lies the problem when you have monetisation linked to viewership of any media.
