Maybe this is where you box clever, and close Tuesday during off peak and say the benefits of this are, we close on a day we make no money, you lot get to sleep off your hang over, but so you don't loose out and we can potentially have great weekends going forward we are moving the hours you...

You may have a point, but surely in this day and age where contracts aren't really worth the paper they are written on you'd think they could get round it with the staff. I mean Adventure Island manage it one way or another. I do agree that they open too early though.

This is precisely why these pre-selected dates will never work. It could lash it down on all of them yet the weekends either said could be glorious, and attract three times as many visitors, yet they would still close up to 5 hours earlier. I'd rather them say we will close no earlier than 6pm...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

One incident that could have happened in any pub anywhere in the country. It happens in bars and clubs with entry fees and bouncers on the door, so charging to get in wouldn't prevent that. The reduction in opening hours is nothing short of a disgrace.

This whole crime rate is blown massively out of proportion. As a young lad I was often left to my own devices at BPB (I'm talking 10-11 years old) and my parents wouldn't have done that if they felt I wasn't safe or if I said I didn't feel safe. I have seen one major scrap at BPB and it was...

Evening trade is still there as I have said before, they just have to be open late enough to maximise it. If they can do it in this weather at rip off prices just think how busy it could be in decent conditions at reasonable rates!

How is the hotel? We were I'm 2 weeks ago and it is one of the finest hotels I have had the pleasure to stay in. I can highly recommend the Pear cocktail from the bar!

I am not too sure about that, how much is a cinema ticket these days? You don't get much change from a tenner for around 90 minutes-2 hours entertainment, football matches are 90 minutes and manage to pull the crowds still and cost a lot more than a sheet of white knuckle tickets ever did. I...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

The evidence is in the same BBC series you were referring to a few days ago. A day''s taking's of half a million pounds, followed by another days not far behind it. Do some mathematics, let's say the park opened at 10am and closed at 12 midnight, the Big One at £4 a head on a 3 train service had...

I may be missing something here, but Coral Island is almost always rammed on a weekend more so when it's bad weather, I don't hear of this crime wave hitting them, or the piers, both of which are free entry, noisy, crowded and compared to BPB have bugger all in terms of security. I don't doubt...

I am not sure what posts you are reading but I can't recall anywhere, Rob saying he wanted free entry back. That would be me.

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

What I think should happen is in an ideal world it should be free entry with the option of a wristband or pay per ride, with prices along the lines of what you suggest. I'd even say £6 for Icon/Big One/Valhalla with the other coasters being £3 along with Airbender/Sky force and Iceblast...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

Times have changed, and while the demand for PPR may have dropped, it's still there, so wouldn't it make sense to capture those customers? As Rob says, plenty of people would spend but now don't, my parents being two such people. I know my mum would love to do Icon but won't pay £15 for the...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

With regards to the ticket system, people do use it, and BPB would see it used a lot more by making it more user friendly. No matter how many enthusiast's shake their heads saying wristbands all the way, Blackpool attracts plenty for who the PB makes up a small part of a day or weekend away...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

We went on Sunday and queued from the top of the ramp and in fairness it did go down reasonably quick. I did think oh here we go because I thought it was a lot shorter than it was but as I said in fairness it went down well. 4 hours however is beyond a joke. If it isn't clear now that it needs 2...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

You would do well to stand outside the admission area for some time and see how many would be punters turn around and leave without entry for one reason or another. If the park admits 2000 on a given day, of course a high percentage would have booked online. However if you monitor those walk ups...

    Smiler incident rumour

Ironically I think DD''s throughput actually increased as they simply loaded each coaster and dispatched without the need to wait for the other side to be ready.

    Smiler incident rumour

Anyone who is a member of the Alton Towers past Facebook group may have seen a post yesterday from a rather illiterate gentleman in which he suggests numerous rides were closed for various reason however he seems to suggest that someone was stuck in the face on the Smiler by a watch belonging to...
