    Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

Just to let you guys know the reason Rita has been closed for the second part of the day today is because the there was a 'swarm of bees' around one of the rides supports. No joke. To be honest though it was a pretty poor day today almost all the rides had some sort of downtime.

    Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

Yeah as I mentioned the only one we had to queue for was Th13teen that was about 20 mins, even on a day as quiet as today, so throughput on this coaster does seem to be affected at the moment, will be interested to see what happens during the busier periods when they would normally introduce...

    Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

OK guys so I just got back from a day at the towers. The first thing I noticed is that you no longer get that voice over on the monorail talking about all the different rides in the park, I assume this had a reference to The Smiler in it? it has simply been replaced by some quiet sounds...

I'm assuming they were sent to different hospitals due to the types of injuries they had, otherwise being a couple you would have thought they would have tried to keep them together or at least in the same hospital.

^ Remember the New Texas Giant is located in the US and they are likely to have different health and safety laws over there which is why it was able to open again so quickly after the accident. I believe we in the UK have some of the strictest laws when it comes to things like this.

    Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015

Are you sure about that? I know its a different ride and park but, I was on The Swarm at Thorpe park last year and it suddenly stopped just as the train left the station and was on its way up the lift hill, eventually the engineer came along and it looked like he manually started the chain back...

^Not sure about the trains but, I imagine they will have to check the structural integrity of the whole ride again before reopening

Obviously extremely shocked and saddened by it like all of you here, we have been visiting AT for many years and each time it has never disappointed, I rode The Smiler for the first time last year and in my opinion it is...
