Been on park today and was great to get back on The Smiler. Ride was pretty much walk on all day so didn't really get to observe many of the indoor effects. Music seemed quieter all round. The ride was operating on 3 cars. Found it interesting the staff in the station asked us if we "mind"...

They have 2 days a year where gypsies take over the place and from what i have read there are some pretty undesirable characters there. 1 is at Easter time, the other during scarefest I believe. I'm just trying to nail down exactly which day over easter it is. Pretty sure its today.

Do they not unload in the same position as they load? So 5th car was pointless?

When there were 5 cars how did that work? Surely only 1 can be in each of the open sections after each lift hill. 1 at bottom of lift 1 and 1 in station? Thats 4. Or did one wait at the bottom of lift hill 2 as well?

Ive got a slim hope it will open late today. Media frenzy tomorrow but nullified by 3 hour queues as its big six day and everyone there would have already been on it before and no doubt want to go on it again. A massive queue to report may actually be good PR for Merlin in this instance...

I believe one was related to over trim on the bunny hop before the inversion. Computer error, what's to stop that happening again for example? Never understood why they would want to slow a car down at that point anyway but im sure its there for a reason!

Yes, other issues that they need to be prepared for. It has happened several times before and will happen again unless they are planning on re-profiling the track. Which doesn't seem to be the case.
