On Sunday I ran the Coventry Half Marathon, it was my first half marathon and I finished in a respectable 1:56:56 :)
Also managed to raise about £1000 between the two of us to help fix the toilets at our church, so yay!
Appalling, yes, but if we'd known we'd have just gone on another ride or gone for a wander round the zoo. Thankfully the queue is in a spiral shape so we were able to warn the people joining the queue later on.
Ugh! Went to Drayton Manor yesterday as it was my wife's birthday, it's only 40 minutes up the road, and my 2 year old loves Thomas Land.
Queues getting into the park meant that the journey took two hours, with daughter shouting "I need a wee wee" for all of the last hour.
Then a 35 minute...
Re: You Know Your Addicted to Alton Towers (and tst) When....
When you come up with an Alton Towers Version of "Settlers of Catan" using Flat rides and Coasters instead of settlements and cities :)
Fixed, thank you!
(Also you're missing a word in your pedantry there!)
I admit I found the music slightly out of place, particularly as the Sea Life Centre have their own music (Basically "Under The Sea" but with enough chord changes so that Disney don't sue).
I wish Merlin would do...
Apologies if this isn't the best place to post this...
I was at Birmingham Sea Life Centre today, and in the gift shop they were playing a slightly funkier version of the Katanga Canyon music.
I just found it rather strange that something I associate so strongly with AT was playing at...
Fair point, I'm trying to post more often now in order to gain more credibility around here. For the record then...
I don't have any insider sources at the park, I just saw a lady with a clipboard
For all I know she could have been a member of the public wanting to suggest some ideas and...
Yes although admittedly Mike Teevee has the hardest story to recreate. You can't really make an animatronic child disintegrate and then appear on a TV...
Maybe have a suite of smaller TVs rather than one big one? Then you could show the adverts on most of the tvs, and then have poor Mike...
I know I'm not the only Pirate Show fan on this forum, but we went to see it today and it really is amazing. How they managed to choreograph it so perfectly, so that the actors do their bits at exactly the right moment as the technician pushes the right button (or vice versa) is beyond me...
I went on Charlie today and the new bits they've added (mostly neon light effects but some new scenery) are quite refreshing. But hey there's always room for improvement right?!
I think my main complaint is the audio commentary from Wonka and Charlie, most of the time they're talking about...
We were in the fast-track queue for Sub-Terra today, stood next to the single rider queue where a man was shouting rudely to the phalanx operative to come over. His complaint was that he'd been stood there waiting for over an hour, and the main queue at the time was only 45 minutes.
I expected...
So I was in Cariba Creek yesterday and there was a lady going around with a clipboard that said "Proposed Outdoor Pool re-development" on it. Any idea what that's all about? :)
