Hi All Never done the scare mazes at Alton Towers and I was wondering what times to book for the best experience ? Are the three main Scare mazes all inside ? Meaning it doesn't matter what time of day you do them they are going to be the same "dark" experience ? Is the new one inside or...

    My European adventure

Hi All I get a pass out each year from the wife to bugger off and do something without her and the kids and I am going to use it on European theme parks this year. So if you had to choose one or two (two must be in traveling distance) which ones would you go for :) What's the best :D Cheers

    2016: General Discussion

The kids are banned from Battle Galleons... I went on it not realising you look like you literally went for a swim in the lake once you get off :D Ice Age is alright once and then pointless. Heave Ho is a nice ride but its a bit boring. And if I wanted to go to a sea life centre we would :)

    2016: General Discussion

My 6 year old daughter has been on Thirteen and Sonic but found them a bit too extreme. She has really out grown Cbeebies land now. So if Blade goes all she really has is... RMT Toadstool Marauders Mayhem Duel River Rapids It so poor :(

The Smiler Incident - What Happened

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/alton-towers-smiler-rollercoaster-crash-8915166 5 trains had been entered into the log.... The engineers didn't bother to check the log or to establish exactly how many trains where operating. They assumed there was four... Quite a assumption to take when...

The Smiler Incident - What Happened

Is that a guess or is that what was said by the HSE ? If its a guess, its probably a good shout... Just been reading it only took Alton Towers medical team 2 mins to arrive on site after the accident happened. That is pretty impressive... EDIT: I missed you saying presume - sorry :)

The Smiler Incident - What Happened

You know all this talk of the crash being the same as 90 mph car crash (how ?? its top speed is 52mph and it hit a stationary object ) and the Skyride being called a rollercoaster during todays proceedings makes me have very late faith in this whole process....

The Smiler Incident - What Happened

Put yourself in the shoes of a medical person at Alton Towers. Considering the size of the place.... How long do you think you could get to the Smiler, with all your equipment, make an assessment and place a detailed called to 999 with all the information they would require ? Personally 18...

The Smiler Incident - What Happened

You wouldn't of thought it was beyond the "engineers" to count the number of carriages... Apparently this was incredibly difficult, despite CCTV coming out showing the stalled train... CCTV or not... I suppose they defaulted to the Well if you can't see it then it must not existed line of...

    2016: The Smiler Reopening

Fine would have a starting point of around £5 million I would imagine which will be reduced depending on how much the judge feels things go in ATs favour. My guess in the end it will be £1.5 million.

The Smiler Incident - What Happened

I think in the end its getting things into perspective that keeps me riding... 1 accident out of 3,000,000 rides on the Smiler... How many accidents out of all the rides in the history of Alton Towers ? How many accidents around the world out of all the billions of rides done... The chances...

The Smiler Incident - What Happened

Or they could of had 30, 60, 120 mins more because they sent the wrong people with the wrong equipment.... Just look at the Hillsborough disaster for what happens when the control centre doesn't get the right information.

    2016: The Smiler Reopening

The crash has shown a lot of failings. I find it amazing the engineers had never read the manual, the gaps in training, the pay related to getting the rides running quicker (so clearly going to lead to safety coming second to cash at some point), the lack of thought of design on the cars in...
