    Drayton Manor Park

Funnily enough I visited Drayton for the first time in a few years on Saturday, and the single train operation of Shockwave was one of the things that made throughput throughout the day painfully slow. I'm assuming that one train is the only one they still have functional? While I thought quite...

    Oblivion: General Discussion

They've mildly rebranded Oblivion's merchandise this year with a shoddy recreation of the original logo (logo itself has different proportions, and the font for the name is different). Not sure why this was necessary as the old logo always looked great and is readily available/easily...

    Galactica: General Discussion

It speaks to the quality of the original Air music that people haven't been left with bad memories of hearing that 3 minute track on loop when queuing 2 hours for the ride. The Galactica space theming feels generic as hell to me, and somehow even more out of place in the area than Air's theming...

    How Busy?

Can anyone give a heads up on how busy it generally is September weekends? Unfortunately myself and a group had to book for next Saturday rather than a weekday, because one of us works in a school and can't afford time off. We barely got on anything when we went during the summer two years ago -...

    Oakwood Discussion

I went camping in Pembrokeshire with some friends this weekend, and got to visit Oakwood for the first time on Friday as part of our stay. It reminded me of my visit to Drayton Manor in 2019 - I thought the place seemed quite charming, and parts of it seemed quite fresh, but it was noticeable...

    Galactica: General Discussion

It really stings that the Galactica retheme has been made redundant, especially considering how unusual and unique the original theme for Air was. Few coasters of this scale adopt a theme that doesn't pose some kind of threat or challenge, and fewer still encourage the rider to embrace the...

    The Alton Towers Dungeon

It looks like something an independent park would have erected in the 80s/90s. Whether that's a good or bad thing is down to perception. Personally I think they've probably half-assed a needless addition to the park.

    The Alton Towers Dungeon

A "second gate" Dungeons attraction using the Charlie infrastructure... Jesus... They're so damn lucky that people who give a shit have refurbed most of the best remaining rides and added a great new one, or this place would be on the fast track (no pun intended) to becoming the next Chessington

    The Alton Towers Dungeon

Isn't Hex basically an Alton Towers dungeon already... and one with a hint of class? Glad to see the status quo return after the success of Wicker Man

    Towers Loving Care

Unfortunately I feel like Galactica/VR will be a permanent blemish upon Air's history to Merlin. It'll always stand out as "the VR ride that didn't catch on" and thus there will be hesitation, if not downright refusal, to give it any kind of additional makeover in its remaining lifespan. Such a...

    Is Nemesis over-rated?

As much as I like The Swarm (probably more than most people), I think the three things that Nemesis has going in its favour in this particular case are the tight restrictions that it was built under (which make the following two points all the more impressive), the incredible landscaping/area...

    Is Nemesis over-rated?

If anything it's underrated by the GP, purely because it doesn't have the specs that the big/unique record-breaker coasters have. I remember riding next to a couple last year, and overhearing them saying that they preferred Galactica purely because the flying position was unique to them. It's...

    Towers Loving Care

At the very least, there's someone at Towers who gives a stuff about pulling off these refurbs to any kind of a standard. Runaway Train and Nemesis may have been refurbed under similar circumstances, but while Scorpion Express is an insult to the original ride's design, the Nemesis alien feels...

Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

If everyone's raving about the ride that got built, one can only wonder what the Wickerman with Wardley's other suggested changes would have been like, for better or worse.

    Towers Loving Care

Nothing, but I see this as what they should have done in the first place with Duel's soundtrack (a la Tomb Blaster's full score), rather than using the same two tracks all over the ride.

    2018: General Discussion

Not sure how recently this occurred (or if the ride will ever even reopen), but Nemesis Sub-Terra has simply been renamed Sub-Terra in the website thumbnail and description of the ride.

    Disneyland Paris: General Discussion

Looks fantastic! And I'm glad that Art of Animation is staying, a little favourite of mine haha. Unfortunately the flip-side is that the main park will still not be getting new investments for quite some time.

2018: Wicker Man - General Discussion - SPOILERS! - Part One

Faint praise perhaps, but for a modern UK theme park entrance that's a wonderful jump in quality. I'm getting very sick of every new ride at every park having either completely two-dimensional signage or a few plastic/metal panels stacked on top of one another.

Neat, they should take photos of how it looks at 4pm

2017 Heritage Stuff (The Real TLC)

Seeing how run down the gardens were from the Skyride, I was never keen to venture into them, but I randomly wandered in last year and was surprised at how nice it felt. These restorations ought to bring them closer to how picturesque they should be.
