Try explaining to an accountant that you need an increase of £x in your budget for tech services. They see the engineering side of things as a £ figure, nothing else. It's a cost, a necessary evil, they'll give you as little as they can get away with because they simply don't understand.
Our...
Not only is fastrack oversold they throw them out hand over fist as compensation. It's counterproductive as the fastrack queue holds up the main queues resulting in people having a bad day who then get fastrack as compensation. Rinse and repeat. As long as compensation costs the park nothing...
£43,261 salary for a mechanical engineer currently advertised. It's not bad money. Electricians may demand more.
I manage 12 maintenance electricians at an airport, different industry yes but similar high pressure environment where breakdowns can seriously inconvenience the public. They're on...
Queue times info seems to be the only thing that's consistent at present. Every time I open it to see what coaster is down it never disappoints. There's always something unavailable.
Tell that to someone who has travelled a distance and is on their only visit for the season.
Would it be ok to say sorry we're not ready yet, come back in a few months time and we should have all the issues ironed out. Engineering team have had plenty of time to get things ready. It's not...
I'm sure the park has asked vekoma for a full inspection of the ride to get an idea how much longer they'll get out of it before deciding on spending money on upgrading the pre show, ride effect's etc.
I'd say the ride itself has been fixed and they're working on upgrades. I just hope the...
I've had bad days at towers with breakdowns and poor ops but always went back even though we've to travel from Northern Ireland. Didn't go this past 2 years because of other commitments and said we weren't going this year either. The lure was too strong, booked to go in August.
Went to BPB once...
I take it this penguin coaster replaces the indoor penguin attraction?
SeaWorld parks need more indoor attractions for when the weather turns bad, not less.
I get it that they're trying to move away from animal captivity but they really need to look at the big picture. You can't just keep...
It's a pity. Alton used to be my favourite park but it's not worth it for us anymore having to travel from Northern Ireland.
This is our second year not visiting and I've got my eyes opened this year going to Energylandia for the first time. It's not only a better park but works out cheaper as...
I found it handy so I could laugh at and compare Altons queue times with the queue times on the rides at Energylandia while I was there on Friday past. In the time I had 3 rides on Zadra I would have still have been in the Smiler queue waiting for my first ride 😂
100% agree. Both parks are crying out for indoor attractions. If they're trying to move away from animals then they need to change their game plan. It's no good just throwing up coaster after coaster. I guess it comes down to cost, indoor rides demand a huge budget.
When Epic Universe opens and...
If the threat of lightning is close they'll keep the rides closed.
We got 2 hours there on our first ever visit with storms keeping rides shut the remainder of the day. It didn't put us off and we've returned many times and really enjoyed the park. Unfortunately our visits in late 2021 and...
