Thought I'd have a quick 15 minute stab at trying to improve the new Thorpe Park logo. For me it's the typeface that needs work. The wider branding elements are nice and very on trend. Here's my take for a bit of fun of course 😊
I would like someone at Merlin to explain to me how it’s only 55p more to get a side of chips compared to a £4.40 ramekin of garlic butter… It‘s almost like they’re trying to put you off having the garlic butter and steak sauces!
Do Alton and Merlin know these exist?
They camouflage well and aren’t as obtrusive as the installation of the new speakers.
I also can’t get over the amount of speakers they’ve added to CRR! There’s literally one every 3 meters… I’m all for investment in park audio but some theming on the...
Haha, I hadn’t thought of it like that but yeah the bracket for the speaker on the left is so over engineered and ugly! Why would anyone recommend installing a speaker like that!?
…And as for the cabling that goes to it, absolute mess.
Don’t get me wrong it’s great to see new audio on Congo River Rapids but surely the park could’ve disguised the speakers better than this:

The way they’ve just been screwed on top of the rocks here is just awful. Completely ruins the illusion and theming...
I so wish Alton and Merlin would invest in proper audio solutions again for their attractions but sadly it's often not high up on the list for where the budget goes... When Alton/Tussauds exclusively used Bose equipment it provided a consistent audio experience across the park but that's long...
This is a bold step for Drayton Manor but can’t help but think it looks half finished. I quite like the logo type but it’s absolutely missing a logo mark to make it distinctive.
I had 5 minutes to spare this evening and added a logo mark in the shape of a rollercoaster and I’d say it looks...
It’s that obscene dangling wire that offends me the most, that single thing just emphases the lack of care and attention that goes into Towers these days. Looks like something you’d see in a council estate and that goes for the teachers lounge too [emoji23]

That'll be because the new speakers have horn loaded tweeters where as the old ones didn't. Now in some respects that is much better as they'll cover a better frequency range but sometimes there can be issues with crossovers blah blah blah... and they can be too harsh etc if they're not tuned...
I totally get all that, and I agree with you! I’m more annoyed that merlin decide to waste money on rides that weren’t necessarily in need of it and others just sit and rot. Whilst the money that they do spend on improving things isn’t well spent when they cheapen out on the contractors they...
I sure hope not! That’ll be another dark ride gone from towers probably to be turned into another cheap up-charge attraction not worth the money they’ll be expecting to receive back.
Duel was better before it was Duel but I agree, the TLC changes made it almost more obvious that the ride needs...
It’s just a shame that money was spent on replacing a sound system that didn’t need replacing and now the sound is worse because of it. HEX was designed with the original sound system in mind and the speakers and their placements were chosen to produce the correct sound for the job. If they...
Surely if the park used one speaker manufacturer there would be a consistent sound and it’ll be easier to maintain due to the fact that engineers won’t need to adapt to different multiple systems and therefore it would take less time and save some money too. To me it just shows a complete lack...
Been to a nightclub where they've used Funktion One speakers and they are indeed very impressive! Just compliments to the guys that installed the Wickerman audio because it too is impressive.
The QSC speakers have been added to the entrance plaza and along the buildings on towers street...
