    Doctor Who

Mixed feelings about "Dinosaur on a Spaceship" for me. Admittedly once I got over the initial giddiness of the dinosaurs and the effects I started to enjoy it less as it went on. Again, I think this episode could have benefited from being 60 minutes long instead of 45. I felt like there were...

    Doctor Who

I guess that was me wishfully mis-hearing that last part but yeah they certainly missed a trick on that one. ;) Speaking of possible tricks, I'm sure a lot of you know that Episode 5 will be set in New York and contain the Weeping Angels. New York. Weeping Angels. Anyone thinking what I'm...

    Doctor Who

Surprised to hear people found it too "deep and complex". This was pretty basic by Moffat's standards. It was excellent though, I loved every second of it. It had a very claustrophobic feel to it and I thought the scenes of The Doctor & friends walking through the asylum was very atmospheric...

Cedar Point - Goodbye Disaster Transport, Hello Gatekeeper

Typical CP going for "tallest, fastest, longest", I always find it funny that their non-record breaker (Maverick) is arguably their highest coaster among enthusiasts. I really hope another park comes up and builds a bigger one just out of spite. :P Coaster looks pretty good though, even though...

    The Family Guy Topic

Family Guy has got to be one of the most overrated shows on television. It's amusing at times, but it relies too much on random cut-scenes which play no part to the plot (if that's what you call it?). If anything, it's just stupid rather than funny.

    Doctor Who

Uh-oh, big post on the way. I think the main (and to me, only) fault of Series 6 was that the River Song storyline was FAR too prominent and intruded too much into the individual stories. I am a massive fan of Moffat's era but even so, I thought "Let's Kill Hitler" was poor and the finale a...

Versus - which is the better coaster?

The site had a redesign about 2 years ago, the park guide page included and I believe the ride ratings weren't compatible with the new format or something? It's a shame really because the park guide pages look awful now and are unnecessarily difficult to navigate too. The scoring system was...

Best Flat Ride At Alton Towers

Enterprise. I actually find it rather fun and I've never been particularly impressed with the cycles I've had on Ripsaw. Everything else is crap.

PortAventura from Barcelona - Advice please

You can either take a bus from one of the terminals (Terminal 1 I think) which will take you straight to the park. I'm not too sure on the details but it'll cost around 30€ for a return. OR you can do it by train (which is what I did) and whilst there's more changes it's about half the cost of...

    TST Film Review Thread

Went to see The Amazing Pretty Good But Not Particularly Outstanding Spiderman earlier today. As you can tell, I quite liked it but it didn't particularly blow me away. I guess it was hard not to compare it directly to Raimi's version, but I'll first of all say that the setting and visuals were...

    MTV US Inbetweeners Remake

To be fair they did a pretty good job with remaking The Office, but I'm not going to praise them any further than that, this looks awful.

    Underrated rollercoasters

Your actual post sort of contradicts the title in a way. I know you mean coasters you were expecting to be crap but turned out to be good/great (surprises) but the title implies that the topic's about coasters you like but everyone else seems to dislike. I know the two can be interlinked in some...

Do you hold a Merlin Annual Pass?

Nope, haven't had one since 2009. I pretty much abused my first pass including all the London attractions (none of which are good enough to warrant a trip back) and getting bored of Thorpe and Chessie. I certainly didn't get my value for money on my second pass and after Saw's opening day I had...

    Top Ten Parks

Funnily enough I have been to Europa before when I lived in Switzerland but that was when I was far too young to remember! ;) No doubt it'll probably be a difficult decision between it and BGW when I do go, although I find yours and Rob's conversation between the two parks interesting because...

    Your Top Worst Coasters

Re: Your Top 10 Worst Coasters Discounting kiddie coasters, there actually aren't that many that I've ridden which I can plainly say I hated, but the ones which stick out to me are: G-Force, Drayton Manor - Not only is the layout really crap and dull but the restraints made it even worse by...

    Your Top Ten Coasters

    107. I don't really think it's that great at all and don't find it very enjoyable. I find Nemesis takes too long to get going and once it's done the Zero-G it dies. I'm not saying it's a bad ride, the helix, surroundings and atmosphere are very good, the ride as a whole doesn't do a lot for me.

    It's #47. (And yes, I'm being honest here! ;))

    Your Top Ten Coasters

Just got to get my 2 pence in before this thread is made redundant. My Top 6 is pretty much concrete, everything else sort of moves around certain days. 1. Alpengeist, Busch Gardens Williamsburg - What I love about this coaster is the whole variety of experiences you get on it. At certain...

    The Sheet Music Thread

These are bloody brilliant Psychoaster! I've always wanted to play some Alton themes (particularly Hex) but I've never had the patience (or ability) to learn them by ear and transcribe them! Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to do so and sharing them with us! They're bloody...

    Top Ten Parks

    1. Busch Gardens Williamsburg: Definitely the most beautifully landscaped park I've been to. I loved EVERYTHING about it, wonderful architecture and theming, friendly staff, food was above-average for a theme park. It was just a lovely place to be. Not to mention their selection of rides is...
