    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Re: Thorpe Park I noticed yesterday that queues were reasonably spread around the park which helped matters. For instance, it's been years since I've seen Quantum's extension queue being used. I think this really helped keep queues for the larger rides reasonable as people were trying...

What's the most rides you have done in a day ?

35 rides in one day is my record. That was only because of an ECC trip and got 25 rides on Rita in an evening ERT session.

    Portaventura TR, April 2013.

You pretty much have the same opinions as me Diogo. I have to admit that I'm surprised at just how well recieved Shambhala has been by everyone that has ridden it. I am yet to hear a negative thing about it (well apart from TPR forum users that have never ridden it) and it just prooves that B&M...

    Chessington World of Adventures Resort

I always assumed the reason for the slow staff was because they've all been brainwashed into thinking that customer service is more important then getting the ride moving. But by reading your trip report, it just sounds like that isn't the case and some are just openly rude. The worst part of...

New Cable-Car for London - Emirates Airline

Shame that so far its useful as neither. Maybe if they had marketed properly as a tourist attraction it would have worked out more successfully.

Falls and Runaway Train are being wrecked so that leaves those two out. Vampire and Fury struggle to make it round their circuits on cold days. Fury vallies on hot spring days between the immelman turn and break 1, break and break 2 quite frequently hence its closure in the cold temperatures...

    Your Enthusiast Origin Stories!

In 1992, me a mere four years old, I was taken too Chessington with my cousins, uncles and grandma. I remember seeing the Skyway trains going over the entrance, being scared of Flying Jumbos and going on Fifth Dimension and being terrified of Zappomatic and particularly his roller-skates We were...

Cedar Point - Goodbye Disaster Transport, Hello Gatekeeper

They find Wild Eagle and X-Flights restraints to tight. Admittedly I am not your average TPR reader but I've never had a problem on Swarm or Raptor.

Cedar Point - Goodbye Disaster Transport, Hello Gatekeeper

It's all moaning about the restraints on it and how great it is that it has fastlane.

Alton Towers Resort closed due to snow

The thing is the Man, we are on the same side here. We want the parks to look their greatest at all times, brilliant customer service, great food, rides open on time.

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Re: Thorpe Park Some of our group came off with very numb hands and could barely move their fingers. Still, how many people can say they've ridden Tidal Wave in the snow. ;D

This is the danger for me. If people decide not to visit in general this season and guest numbers do not remain steady or increase then there is a real risk the park will get budget cuts and they won't be allowed to rebuild the rockwork or theming.

Alton Towers Resort closed due to snow

Thats all very well. Your post started by understanding that Alton Towers had to close because the snow was just to heavy for it to be safe to run the rides and open. Fair enough. Your post then decided to focus on just how unpredictable the last 12 months has been for Towers which has been...

I'm amazed that you managed to turn this into a post against Merlin management.

I don't disagree that Falls was up there with Chaucer and Einstein, however I do agree that Falls was an excellent display of immersion. Walking through Mystic East was the best bit of escapism in the Tussauds group before 2005 when the first part of rockwork was removed. The removal of the...

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Re: Thorpe Park Thorpe have done a great job this weekend. Was there today for opening and the only rides that didn't open at all were Colossus, Saw and Rush.. Everything was going well, even Tidal Wave was filling boats. Around 3 all the roller coasters closed due to falling temperatures and...

[The Smiler] Construction Updates and Ride Speculation

The areas changed. Either move on or forever moan. I applaud the Towers effort here. Sticking with their guns with this project makes it all worthwhile.
