    Towers' height restrictions

Just a few weeks back, queuing for Rita, my daughter and I saw a kid who clearly came up to under 1.4m on the big ruler thing, *was wearing high heels (I kid you not)*, but was still let on - because the adult with her (her teacher) told the ride assistant in a gruff voice that she had measured...

He can also go on the Enterprise and the Blade if he can stomach it ;) but otherwise, that's basically your lot. You'd also have much fun in Justin's Pie-O-Matic Factory - not it to be missed - seriously!! We spent ages there yesterday on the fully automatic ball blasters, taking out Cbeebies...

    Opening Weekend: The Inquest Begins

I'd add to that the closing of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - that's a big loss for families as it was one of the few rides that kids of a range of ages could enjoy together.

    Towers Loving Care

I understand what you're saying :). But what I was trying to get at is that it's currently difficult to experience the whole park as a family, because there are big areas where essentially there is nothing to do unless you're 1.4m+. Fine if you're happy to split up and spend time in different...

    Towers Loving Care

A slight tangent, but Cloud Cuckoo Land - wtf?! As a combination of TLC and ride mothballing, there is now nothing there but a carousel, the Froghopper, and the driving school. Even the 4D cinema has gone! To me, this shows a real contempt for younger guests :(. It used to be that bigger...

    Opening Weekend: The Inquest Begins

So, we were there today and Sunday. Sunday had been well documented :). But just to say that although the experience was better today due to much lower guest numbers, there are still so many issues. Spinball was meant to be an ERT ride - but it didn't open today until well past 10 - meaning...

Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

We got on today too! The theming is fantastic. It will be improved even further when they sort out the effects at the end, which at the moment feel like a damp squib. Difference between today and yesterday in the park is indescribable, but this is solely because there's a fraction of the crowds.

    Opening Weekend: The Inquest Begins

Interesting. We're stopping over tonight (I'm currently drinking a £10 bottle of awful wine from a mug in Enchanted Village), and I'm really intrigued to see how tomorrow compares to today. My main thought today is that there seemed to be no overall management of communication or "strategy"...

Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

Today, having endured a 100 minute wait for the Smiler with my ten year-old daughter (joined when the queue was reported to be 25 minutes), we both decided to do a poo on the Froghopper as an act of protest. So I do get this.

Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

Looking at that guy's Twitter, I think this may have been a (pretty amusing) parody of the social media furore about AT today :)

Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

Sure, but I don't know it it will work without a Twitter account. https://mobile.twitter.com/altontowers/with_replies Frankly, worth signing up for to read though. I genuinely think you'll be shocked!

Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

Check 'em out on Twitter (go "tweets and replies"). At least one person responding on that today was SERIOUSLY narky. A couple of the posts are so unprofessional they're actually pretty funny.

Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

We were here today, and didn't even bother going near the WM queue :( maybe tomorrow. A couple of thoughts: 1) The park seems to be pushing customers to use the app for queue time information. I note that the app uses Bluetooth and I wonder if the app itself might therefore contribute to queue...

Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

That's fab - thanks for the reply. We're coming Sunday/Monday and I'm hoping that Monday morning will be our best bet for getting on this, but I'm not holding my breath...!! The synergy of (a) a wooden rollercoaster with (b) wicker-man esque imagery (even if Lord Summerisle sadly doesn't...

Wicker Man - General Discussion - Part Two

Hi! New here but just dropped in to ask... 1) what did queue times for the Wicker Man peak at today? 2) are AT doing that "parent queue share" thing of a few years back, and if so, so you think you can use it on this ride? Thanks guys! X
