    The Public Transport Thread

There just needs to be some integration and the connection wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately the Crewe to Stoke line is only hourly but as there's a frequent Manchester to Stoke service, I don't think a bus service that roughly lines up with one of the Crewe to Stoke services is too much to...

    Coronavirus

I believe so, though apparently in South Korea some people wore masks to cover their face as they didn't want to be seen without makeup. Despite what the media suggested, when I was in Asia most people did not wear masks on transit. Some did, but most didn't.

    Theme Park Worldwide

I have remained silent on this issue because I've never watched Theme Park Worldwide. The allegations are one thing, people should be encouraged to speak up but ultimately whether they're true or not is a matter for the police to investigate. What really doesn't sit right with me is the hiding...

    The Public Transport Thread

There's a fairly frequent service between Manchester and Stoke with services taking either 36 or 55 minutes. Considering the car journey is over an hour, a train to Stoke then a bus to Towers is going to be quicker than a bus all the way. Kind of a moot point though as there isn't even a bus...

    Minor theme park news

Not sure if this is the best place for it as it's a European park but here goes, Funland at the Tropicana is returning to Weston Super Mare on 11 July with a new selection of rides including a spinning coaster (I haven't looked into which showman it belongs to yet).

    Coronavirus

Judging by the comments on my local Facebook page it'll be a nightmare for anyone exempt from wearing a mask. So many stupid comments. Even more ridiculous when you remember that nobody was wearing one last week.

    Coronavirus

I wasn't worrying about it, but thanks :D Face coverings will be compulsory in Scottish shops from the 10th (with some exemptions for certain people). This will be quite the step change as last time I was in a shop I don't think anyone was wearing one. In other news, the 5 mile limit for...

Indeed, Stoke is a good hub as it's easily accessible from Manchester and Crewe (for the WCML). I feel a simple daily service from Nottingham (via Derby) and from Stoke to Towers would be sufficient, but crucially it should arrive before park opening.

    Lightwater Valley

On my visit in 2012 they were running both, but in 2016 and 2019 they only ran one. The queue was around 30 mins which isn't exactly long but it is tedious when you just want to ride Ultimate all day

    Coronavirus

Their wording makes it sound like that was the case. To be honest I'm not very comfortable with private businesses deciding who needs to wear a mask, but I guess in the US they have to as there aren't any country-wide guidelines.

    The Public Transport Thread

Manchester to Towers via Stoke is basically the same time as Manchester to Towers direct, so they could even connect both cities with one bus.

    Coronavirus

After one day of operation Knoebels have amended their mask policy and now the only exceptions are if a guest is under the age of two or is dining. Apparently their relaxed guidelines didn't work. Once again, screw disabled people I guess?

They were tweeting that same line when I looked at Twitter last night. I thought it was a bit odd that they didn't make a post addressing the issue

Ride Access Pass Systems and Disabled Access (pre 2024)

Is this all because the disabled person would be less than 2m from the people leaving the ride, while they wait to board? Or is there another operational issue I'm not aware of?

I don't think it's possible to delete replies to your own tweets. Even if you delete your original tweet, the replies will remain there.

Ride Access Pass Systems and Disabled Access (pre 2024)

If they can offer that facility, they should be able to offer RAP for every ride too. I don't think they've announced any cutbacks to RAP yet though?

Ride Access Pass Systems and Disabled Access (pre 2024)

I believe Fasttrack won't be operating this year either right? Absolutely though disabled facilities should always come before fasttrack.

Ride Access Pass Systems and Disabled Access (pre 2024)

I don't believe RAP makes the normal queue longer because the disabled person has to wait before riding again.
