I visited Ilkeston on Saturday afternoon and heard an ice cream van playing the theme to "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" in the housing estate in Cotmanhay just around the corner from the old theme park.
The spirit of the wild west lives on in Ilkeston! 16 years after the park closed.
I emailed Amber Valley Council and these are the rubbish street names they have chosen:
Miller Drive – after Alfred Edward Miller-Mundy
The Woodside - The Woodside no.3 shaft remains at the site
Nutbrook Drive - south of the site on the site of the former Nutbrook mine,

The first houses on the site of the American Adventure have gone for sale. I guess the petition didn't work out in the end and the theme park won't be coming back...

It looks like the Bryan family have now set up a new limited company called DMP Newco Ltd, does this mean they might keep the park?
