No I meant could they be running it faster as the new breaks at the end can cope with the increased speed compared to the old system.

Could this be something to do with the addition of the new brakes? Being able to run it faster without extra stress on the trains?

My thoughts exactly, if you look back at the opening day pics from original nemesis loads of things look quite stark. As soon as nature takes its cause I think a lot of this stuff will naturally blend in more. (Basically rot but in a nice aesthetically pleasing way)
