Alton Towers/Merlin Typos & Grammatical Errors

One of the retail managers at Chessington would always make embarrassing spelling and grammar mistakes when doing the signage for the shops. We never had the courage to tell him.

Basically, the new rules rely on individuals making sensible decisions. What could possibly go wrong.

Will the lockdown increase or reduce investment?

Interestingly the Merlin parks did very well during the 2008/09 financial crisis. If people cut down on holidays abroad during a recession (especially if more airlines go bust) then presumably Merlin's attractions will benefit as they are a cheaper alternative. Blackstone will also want to raise...

    Coronavirus

Pete, it's true that we don't mass test for the common flu but we do know that it has a fatality rate of around 0.1%. The fatality rate for coronavirus is much higher than that, it ranges from around 1-3%. It's no use saying the absolute number of deaths from Covid 19 has been quite low so far...

    Coronavirus

This was talked about on Channel 4 recently: This article talks about why it is wrong to compare coronavirus to the common flu: https://www.sciencealert.com/the-new-coronavirus-isn-t-like-the-flu-but-they-have-one-big-thing-in-common I'm sure governments don't take decisions lightly that will...

    Coronavirus

 Stop comparing this to the seasonal flu, this spreads much more quickly and has a fatality rate that is ten times higher than the flu. Panicking doesn't help, but neither does acting like this is no big deal.

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

It's a very popular show. Very dark and depressing though, which probably makes it a good fit for Thorpe Park.

    Merlin Entertainments: General Discussion

Everything that's wrong with Merlin, and indeed the country, in a microcosm. Thirty million quid could go a long way towards investing in the parks, improving low pay, reversing some of the cut-backs/job cuts. But no, let's stuff that money in Varney's already fat pockets.

    Legoland Windsor

Some of the people I worked with at Chessington had worked in the British area at Epcot. Apparently the wages at Epcot were woeful.
