    Parc Astérix: General Discussion

I mainly really like Parc Asterix, but feel they should definitely prioritise a dark ride. Volare and Pegasus Express are both fine family coasters as it is.

2018: Eurosat Can Can Coaster / Madame Freudenreich Curiosités

Europa are proud of their history and do a good job of retaining visitors, so it's still colloquially known as Eurosat to a few generations of regulars. I call it Eurosat, but everyone I know who has been to the park after the refurbishment just calls it 'CanCan Coaster'. It's fun explaining...

    Unsafe rides

Unfortunately I am seemingly unable to tell the difference between what I've seen on the internet and witnessed in reality, but I am sure I have seen Air/Galactica dispatch with a loose leg or two on a couple of previous occasions over the years. I expect that it's pretty uncomfortable, but...

    Best European Park for...

DLP has some very good attractions, but I prefer the wider variety, charm and occasional weirdness of Efteling, which, like Disney, is open until 10PM in summer these days. And it's much cheaper.

    Best European Park for...

I would opt for Efteling. The swimming pool in Bosjrik is small, but pretty good fun, with a mini-rapids. Plus it's just so nice to hang out in that holiday village, and at the resort. Europa Park, and Germany in general, are not big on RAP. If you're used to the inclusivity of the UK, German...

    Gardaland

I am glad that Gardaland has finally recieved another variation on a drop ride, I can only see two others in that photo.

    2024: General Discussion

Seems like a complete misfire, a non-starter of a position for a paid experience in 2024. They could probably maintain their position and fill these up regardless, but given the organic impact of social media, it seems unlikely.

Survey pointing to potential Minecraft IP?

I remember that Halo was rumoured at the time, although nothing was ever confirmed.

    Nemesis Reborn: General Discussion

The modern demand to meet Wardley or (especially) Burton is really fascinating to me, speaks a lot for who the cult of 'thoosie' has grown and diversified in the last decade. John W was just knocking around at the fringes of Nemesis X and Nemesis 21, and while always something of an industry...

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins

The food at Chester Zoo in general is very impressive, probably the best variety, quality and in some cases, theming, of any UK attraction. It's the level Alton Towers should aspire to, at minimum.

    Hex: The Future

I love(d?) the indoor Hex queue, the ambience sets the tone for what's to come perfectly, even if you're just breezing quickly through to the first batching area. I think the outdoor section is 20-30 minutes, from very distant memory. I wonder if part of the motivation for this change is that...

    One Day Trip

Environmental concerns aside and disregarding the novelty of the 24-hour window, a day trip abroad is pretty exhausting and the vast majority of parks listed above are in the vicinity of fantastic cities or other attractions. It's always worth getting your head down nearby. But then, I am older...

    [2024] Europa-Park General Discussion

Not really a fan of the gradual humanisation of two cartoon mice. Are they eventually just going to become Michael and Mirjam? Shades of this...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

BPB invest in new steel for The Big One every closed season. It's not going anywhere soon, from what I can tell. In regards to my previous post, I was trying to highlight that a hyper coaster is already a product the park offer, so another might be overkill. But also that I genuinely cannot...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

The issue that BPB might encounter if they were to install a contemporary hypercoaster is that it would surely completely show up The Big One, which would otherwise remain their second or third biggest hitter. Well, that and the fact they have no money.

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

I must admit, the view of this thing from across the lake has inspired a feeling of excitement that I never thought would again be possible from the Thorpe Park car park.

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins

There's a vast industry around street food that has accelerated in the last decade or so. I think a lot of the stigma or associations with a bacon bap van in the car park of a B&Q or a layby has vanished, and presumably the "maggot wagon" idea with it. If anything, people seem to gravitate more...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

It could definitely be a coaster calibre plot of land with some creative thinking, but as an experienced Mandy reader, I can almost guarantee that nothing is currently planed and the ride is closing due to financial woes. And don’t ask her any questions!

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2024 Discussion

This is fantastic. A mention of Hot Ice aside, it’s like everything exhausting about Amanda wrapped up in one succinct communication. She has the facts!
