I rode it today, loved it after first ride but knew immediately to take my own opinion with a pinch of salt with the newness bias.
It'll settle somewhere in my UK top 10, but absolutely not my top 5.
Yeah, was slow dispatches on two trains on Thursday (during the very limited time it was actually open with the weather), so I can only dread to think what one train operation must be like, we were really lucky to get on when we did
I'm also there tomorrow, was considering the same plan but last few times I've checked it's looked like it's been between 60 and 90 minute, I just don't want to lose the entire night in the Wicker Man queue haha
Not wanting to spark more discussions on what was said earlier but I'm going to be at Towers tomorrow (was also there today) so what should I be wary of and do to prevent it from spoiling my weekend considering what it's likely to be?
Was on park today and can say that it does absolutely look good but doesn't match last year's lighting.
Also waited 2+ hours for it (advertised 90 minutes) which killed my plans for a quick cheeky ride on Nemmy afterwards before catching my coach but that's besides the point.
Surely during a weekday would be better, as I remember the weekends being especially packed last year though of course the weekdays are certainly busy too.
I will also quickly add that when I asked why we weren't allowed in the SRQ the host said something along the lines of "I think because the main queue is too long". I looked at the SRQ too and it didn't look full either, assuming full means up to the sign which splits SRQ from FT and RAP...
Yeah when I was last at the park they refused to let us in the SRQ on a 70 minute queue but the next day the queue was 50 mins (though it lowered to 35 mins shortly after) and the SRQ was open as normal (and was walk on). Absolutely bizzare and I can only assume this is literally only done to...
The first day was definitely busy but the second day really wasn't too busy and allowed for a really great day!
Yeah, our first timer friend definitely wants to give Smiler another shot to have a better experience, he keeps telling me how crazy is it that being 1 seat to the left gave him a...
Had my second visit to Alton Towers of the year over the past couple of days, and it will forever stand out as one of my best visits as I was bringing along a friend who had never been before. I was also with two other friends, all of them mostly GP, so I kept being their encyclopedia of useless...
Thanks @Alsty and @skyscraper! I will probably make a trip report of how it all went, but we all had a fantastic time overall and one of the best visits I've ever had there in my life.
Hey everyone! Decided to make an account after lurking for a while!
I just actually returned home today from introducing a friend to Alton Towers for their first time too. I'm looking forward to talking here and there on here when I can!
