I think you’ve maybe mistaken my point here. I never claimed the parks will be acting as marketing for Florida parks, but that will be part of their ambition. It’d be naive to think there won’t be strategies dedicated to enhancing UK advocacy for Universal within this park.
The park is going...
I think there’s a good chance that Universal will look to blow other UK parks out the water with the wraparound provisions - food, merch, cleanliness, entertainment, etc.
Part of the ambition of this park will be turning UK and some Euro visitors onto the US Florida parks. So, a real...
I also think there may be an element of cynicism and opportunism from Universal in choosing the UK. They’ll be aware of the anticipated political swing, motivated mostly by an anger towards the current powers that be.
In this thread alone, there’s a lot of posts that (very justifiably)...
Never underestimate how the various footballing bodies can add outrageous levels of pageantry and pomposity to almost anything. Just watch a Champions League draw for a masterclass in bombastic frills.
It’s quite interesting how far Universal are broadening their themes from Film.
I think (with zero degree of certainty but for the love of chucking ideas about) we could see something involving Football. It’s permanently popular, has huge cross-generational appeal and is a big draw for...
I can’t be the only one annoyed that this artistic rendering is running at such low capacity?!
If Merlin want to be taken seriously, all their unaffiliated artist impressions and fan fiction should be running at maximum throughput! Even on imaginary off peak Tuesdays!
This is surely the dream. Even moreso if it’s located with a lake view. We’ve all felt the inexplicable alchemy that happens when you can see a body of water and feel a drink In your hand.
Merlin/AT’s finance teams will surely model capacity vs in-park revenue every year with a target (every X number of guests should spend a total of Y in park) taking into account an estimated percentage of regular visitors, return visitors and one-offers.
If they see in-park revenue falling...
Time to put my sensible *Karen* suit jacket on. This is one of the times that voicing concerns and complaints to management will help.
Complain by phone, and then follow-up complain via email with easily ctrl+f-able terms in the title: ‘Aramark’ ‘food’ ‘gluten-free’ ‘bigger rip-off than those...
It’s probably the same development team updating the map for TP and AT, and they’ll have a release schedule. Concurrent releases could be messy, so it makes sense to stagger them.
This feels a great IP opportunity for AT or another park.
It’s a very distinctive brand with an instantly recognisable aesthetic. It’s purposefully limitless, so the options for applying the branding to the attractions are massive.
It’s also firmly established in school-age child culture. My...
There’s also a very good chance their marketing agency has a hand in this. TBWA have been working on the Nemesis project:
https://www.tbwamcr.com/nemesisclosure
and its plausible on-site copy is within their remit.
I don’t want to discredit any party, but when messaging is jumbled, it’s often a...
