Yep, this has been the policy for years. The only alternative would be to have a sort of "last train standby" queue as they absolutely will not send a train with fewer than 18 people on it. This once caught them out when they had a group of 3 from main queue near the front, another 3 from RAP...
Hex had signs for main queue, FT & ambulant RAP up at the start of the season. The wheelchair entrance is where it always was.
So yeah, 4 entrances. Smiler is the current record holder with 5.
I've made several posts in this thread (over many years) ripping into WDS for being a pretty lousy place to be. It's gradually improving but vast parts of it remain a soulless mess.
The park does at least have a number of genuinely good rides nowadays (some utterly terrible ones too) but it's...
It's probably due to the trains only just starting to be delivered but this thing feels so far off being finished that I just don't believe it'll be ready for opening day.
I guess it's likely that they've got all the electrical and control systems ready in advance and can send the train round...
Before we go any further into tech support, the fact remains that regardless of whether it is technically *possible* to see that reservation date has changed, it is not always clear that it has and even if it were, there should be no need to double check that date if a booking once it has been...
Astonishing how bad Merlin are at queue design. If you're going to be spending an hour or more waiting for a ride, you have to try not to make every second of the experience a waking nightmare.
Hyperia is longer than any of Thorpe's other coasters but given how tall it is that's hardly surprising.
None of Thorpe's coasters are particularly long.
Well Chessington have seemingly given up on theirs after it smouldered slightly 2 years ago.
I still can't believe it's up and running only a few weeks after Voltron started testing, considering that was well under construction this time last year whilst old Alpenexpress was still operating
That's pretty much what I thought but Intamin found a way to make it work and they had twisting drops (unlike Mack bobs) so they had to bend the track in all directions at once
Would be interesting to see how much faster it would run without using most of the energy to purée the riders.
He's been scammed if so - mine was a 62 plate. Though if someone has gone to the effort to convert it to an auto they've probably put a lot of work in all round
I've never understood why Mack went with dozens of small tubes for their bob track rather than the plate steel Intamin used. Surely having a smooth surface to run on would be a vastly better option?
I believe the position of the leg restraints on Galactica are monitored such that the ride cannot be dispatched unless they're closed. I've definitely heard the op calling out a row/seat number followed by "leg flaps" on more than one occasion - I always assumed the information came from the...
Given that the park isn't opening in the next couple of years, inflation can't be ignored. It seems reasonable to assume that they'd open as the most expensive park in the UK by a large margin so I don't think a price of around £100 is out of the question, at least for the on the day rate.
The backwards section looks far more dynamic than on the equivalent Vekomas due to the addition of drive wheels on the spike.
Concerning seeing the station completely empty as the train goes through - have they repeated the mistakes Chessington made on MM?
Well ideally you want to catch any issue prior to the train moving. Spotted straight away they can just bring the train down and reopen the restraints. Once it's moved forward even slightly it becomes far more difficult to fix.
If I'm remembering correctly, platform staff at the front of the...
Staff have always done that on the Six Flags flyers as far as I know, though I've not idea whether SF had a specific reason to do so or had just identified a potential issue
