    WDW Magic Kingdom: General Discussion

Although it seems a bit daft, there have sadly been incidents where guests have gone to self evac, slipped on the platform then hit their head and at the least, been hospitalised. The boat only filled with water to that extent once the guests had left and the CM who assisted them had probably...

    Scarefest 2020

Having organised scare events myself previously, I wouldn't be comfortable running a scare maze, even with distancing at 1 metre. From experience, it's easy to get carried away trying to get a good scare and I could see actors sometimes struggling to maintain distancing, old habits die hard...

    Theme Park Worldwide

I'm hoping that now a lot more people are aware of the harrasment that goes on within the theme park community, the amount of activity might reduce due to people being afraid of being outed. It's something I've known about for a while, almost accepted it, I suppose. Growing up as a young woman...

Do portable funfair rides scare you more than static park rides?

I actually wrote my dissertation on public perceptions of theme park safety, and included a section on fairs! HSE have identified that the risk of visiting a fair or theme park is perceived as being far higher than the actual risk is. There generally seems to be a societal belief that fair...

    Funhouses.

The slide with an ORP at Grona Lund's funhouse was surprising, the whole thing was very much never in the UK!

    Scarefest 2018

This Scarefest I went through Mine Tours at the front of the group for the first time, with a Haunted Lantern helmet which made all the difference, really enjoyed the experience. Without a hat I've always found it a little dull and lacking in scares

    The I Feel Happy Topic!

I've secured my dream job and am finally going to get to visit the parks in Florida! Looks like 2018 is going to be a great year

Drayton Manor Park - Splash Canyon Incident

From everything so far it seems like this is a very unfortunate accident. I feel people are being too fast to condemn a young child. Yes, her actions had a dire consequence but ultimately, she was a young girl, excited to be on a day out with her friends. Who of us can say we've never shifted in...

TS Blackpool Summer Spectacular: Saturday, 29th July 2017

Highly likely I'll be attending this, just need to check finances and sort accommodation before I confirm.

    The I Feel Happy Topic!

I've finally decided to put myself and my wellness first. I've handed in my notice, leaving full time work for casual work at festivals and gigs. I'm not focusing on what people think of me, just doing what I want and having fun over the summer. Should be a good one, I'm starting to feel...

    The I Feel Happy Topic!

Thank you! It's nice to have people telling me my personality is back, good to actually have the energy to do anything and not be numb all the time. Not out of the woods, but back to a place where I can look after myself.

Theme Park Alternatives - Fun/Price Comparison

When I'm not visiting theme parks I tend to gravitate towards adventure activities and scare attractions. Adventure activities can be quite pricey (£45 for a 90 minute lesson at surf snowdonia) but you're taking a life skill away from it, as well as using specialist equipment. With scare...

    The I Feel Happy Topic!

After some health issues and being signed off work, I'm nearly back up to full time hours. I'm still very unsure about everything and struggle with negative thoughts. Having two award nominations today for events that I've designed has reassured me that I'm doing the right thing. Anyone who...

TS Opening Weekend: 25-26 March 2017

I've managed to find some money and make some plans so I'll be attending on the Saturday, can't wait!

    UK Scare Events

Because I enjoy scare attractions, no ulterior motive here!

    UK Scare Events

I would recommend the new scare maze and Lockdown: Sanatorium (zombie survival event) at The Dana Prison in Shrewsbury. ;) Should be something new and exciting for Shropshire! Twisted Terror Park in Stafford will be worth a visit, the guys at Twisted make some really good (quite hands on!)...

    TS Scarefest: 8-9 October 2016

I've put a holiday request in for the weekend so hopefully I'll finally be attending an official meet this year!

    TS Merlinpool: 30-31 July 2016

Work have just told me I'm not needed next weekend, need to sort transport and accommodation but subject to that, I'll be there for the weekend!

    Dreamland Margate: General Discussion

I was at Margate the other weekend and it was interesting speaking to the locals, who said that since Dreamland has reopened it's really started bringing tourists back. I do hope they'll be successful, the park feels like it's missing something but has a great atmosphere and there's so much...

    TS South: 24-26 June 2016

Very interested in doing the full weekend for this, if I can sort transport and accom and if work don't need me that weekend! Might be difficult to get the time off, will have to see.
