Having a closer look at the planning application, it looks like Dreamland have come to a deal with Zamperla for their new rides :)
The full list includes:
Twister Coaster
Sky Tower
Air Race 8.2
Endeavour
Midi Discovery
Magic Bikes
Samba Balloon
Vintage Caterpillar (Littleboy's Restorations)...
Some people on here will know how Dreamland has always been one of my favourite places, yet this year looks to be the first time I'm unable to make it to Screamland  If this year is anything in comparison to the last two years I've been, it looks to be a fantastic event with 6 scare mazes...
A few more teasers have been uploaded of the upcoming scare mazes :)
Dead and Breakfast is looking fantastic and is certainly the most anticipated maze for me, I love all the details and variety across the sets :D
Taken from ScareTOUR and the Screamland event page :)
The important thing to understand with Dreamland is how much it is valued by local people, including myself (which most people have probably realised by now :P)
Dreamland holds a lot of history and has always been a crucial component of Margate, the Scenic itself had been operating since the...
Taken from the document:
The Dreamland team clearly would have wished to have the Scenic without the system, but sadly The Health and Safety Executive have the final decision at the end of day! Whilst it may be slightly disappointing, looking at the bigger picture, it's a huge achievement to...
I believe the braking system was designed by Fairfield Control Systems, having found a document the other day which explained how it worked. However, upon trying to find it again now, they have taken it offline which is frustrating - I will post it here if it's re-uploaded :p
As outlined in the...
Another quick update :)
A few more photos of Festino's Forgotten Funhouse have been posted on their Facebook event page, for which I will put in a spoiler again :P
What they're really emphasising is how big this scare maze will be, I am very excited to see the final product :D
In other...
Thought I would post a quick Screamland update :)
Firstly I want to show my appreciation for the posters they had commissioned by local artist Dean Samed, they look fab!
Secondly, a few photos have been posted on their Facebook event page to show the progress being made with the scare...
Testing has now begun for the Scenic Railway :D Here's a photo of one of the trains on the track, taken from Kent Online:
I also found this video from a drone which gives a great view of the whole site, and the Scenic testing in the background :) I'm sure more videos will emerge soon!
Here's a full photo of the new trains, taken from their Facebook page :)
I love the colour scheme, though am a little unsure about the trellis! Nonetheless, they really have done a fantastic job with the restoration, and I cannot wait to see it operating once again
The Ghost Train...
It has been revealed that a bolt fell from the Big One earlier this month on the 9th of August, reportedly falling from the return bend of the coaster onto a roof, and then onto the floor. Sounds like it wasn't a major incident, but before you ask, the Mirror have already written an exaggerated...
Been doing a bit of research into the rides that have been in storage, and found an interesting document from March which states the current situation with them, I've outlined this below:
Circular Water Chute
Ride incomplete, only cars salvagable - not in the park plan
From further research...
It's also worth mentioning that the event is in collaboration with AtmosFEAR! Scare Entertainment who no doubt will be able to provide expertise that will be much needed for a debut horror event :) Their client portfolio is impressive (from someone who hasn't researched them before :P), of which...
The details for Screamland have been announced!
The event will be running from the 16th to the 31st October, 6pm until 11pm. At the early bird cost of £19.95 (£24.95 on the gate), this gives you entry to the park after 6pm with 1 experience of all scare mazes (£5 per maze if you want to do them...
Dreamland have just posted a teaser for their upcoming Halloween event, 'Screamland' :)
Can't seem to find any more info about what it will involve! I do like the artwork though :P
Visited Dreamland yesterday with a friend of mine, and once again it did not disappoint :)
Firstly I can confirm that the dodgems are still fast, as a couple of collisions were enough for me to leave with a huge bruise on my knee and a scrape on my back that required a quick visit to first aid...
Here's a bit more about the new rides:
Starflyer Tower
Austin Cars
Speedway
Barrel of Laughs Rotor
Nothing too significant but nice additions nonetheless :) In terms of King Solomon's Mine I can only guess that they have it in storage alongside The Whip, I can't find any news about...
It's now been over a month since Dreamland re-opened! So, how has it been going?
Opening day
Rewind back to June 19th and the park was received very positively from the media and the general public. @Danny has summed up our experience there already, but I thought I would give my views anyway...
