May have been a mistake on the staff's part, but I was given discount in Corner Coffee and RCR today with an Alton Towers pass. At £40 (and a £10 upgrade to visit on event/peak days) even I couldn't turn it down.
Can't make next week as I'm going on holiday on Tuesday (which will be fab, so I must stop whinging!!)
Nice having a brief catch-up and getting turfed off the lawn today and even a mooch around Sealife beats hanging around bored at home :)
I did a little bit of a write-up, if anyone's...

Not easy having a conversation with them when people kept telling us helpful things like 'it's snowing', 'they don't control the weather' and 'it's for your own safety'. However, that's an answer that's managed to satisfy me. I thought I recognised your DP :)
If I'm in the mood and the...
Am I making it up, or did Blackpool run moreorless as normal a fortnight ago when the weather was actually bad?
I've definitely been at Alton in worse than this - and for reasons best known to myself, I'm awake, now wondering how else to kill the morning!!
Thorpe have cancelled their AP event on Sunday.
The forecast for KT16 is only slightly worse than it is for ST10; however, Alton have a lot more riding on the weekend than Thorpe do, so would have more to lose. There's literally nothing about in other than social media pages. I wouldn't worry...
There was a meet there in 2013; I was there :p -

Much like many of you, I've become entirely disillusioned with Merlin over the last couple of years and will probably only visit Alton once, during Scarefest this year.
I'm...
Couldn't find the answer anywhere else on the forum, but wanted to double check...
Do we know whether the infamous 'Gypsy Day' is still likely to be the first Sunday of Scarefest (9th)?
Probably only going to manage one trip this Autumn, so I don't want anything to mess it up :p
Just checked and Southampton is definitely twice as far from Paultons as Romsey is. From what I remember from my last trip, taxi from Romsey is probably the easiest/cheapest option.
In other news, it's taken me a long time but I've finally organised myself for tomorrow. Though I'll almost...
Just a heads up to those of you considering Chessie on the Saturday... you might want to check the weather. The park's a bit underwater today.
I'll certainly be monitoring the forecast closely before making the long trip to Paultons.
Definitely need to do Paultons at some stage this year, so the Saturday is a strong maybe.
Unlikely to do Thorpe though, due to the lack of MAP/interest.
Public service announcement you probably already know:
Just managed to get a room in Splash for £65 on the last night of fireworks, if anyone's yet to sort their plans.
EDIT: There is no space in Will's room :P
Just the Saturday for me, as I'm going to a gig in London on the Sunday.
As ever, despite a distinctly lacklustre year for the park overall, looking forward to this one :)
Will sort maze tickets nearer the time and have a nasty feeling my AP needs renewing as well :(
Yesterday somehow ended up being a good day, but it felt weird for reasons I couldn't quite put my finger on.
Firstly - the obvious complaint points, and the entirely uneccessary soft openings which left large areas of the park inaccessible until 11 or even 12. This is simply unacceptable in a...
There you are, Russ :)
I've booked the day off work, so might be on park earlier, and actually considering staying over if anyone else is up for it? :P
Whilst I agree, this is utterly scandalous, I think that prize HAS to do to Thorpe for... pretty much every season between 2007 and 2011...
As for the general public, whilst as my last post here illustrates, I'd struggle to defend Chessington on most counts, I've actually had to unfollow them on...
