    2022: General Discussion

I lived in Alton for nearly 10 years, I don't recommend it unless you like the feeling of cabin fever.

    Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

Yeah, was about to say I distinctly remember entering the queue just after five on opening day, and not coming off well after eight. So I've definitely queued more than three hours for The Smiler. Never done since mind.

    Oblivion: General Discussion

Supersoaker shot through the holes in fence should do the trick.

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins

Gonna throw in a random comment, and say one of my favourite memories of Alton Towers as a kid was the Cred Street McDonalds. Man, what an interior, for a McDonald's it was magical in the eyes of a young kid.

[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

By the time Exodus opens, it would have been 12 years since Thorpe added a coaster. I reckon Exodus will have been rethemed to Game of Thrones or some other irrelevant and out dated IP twice over by the time they even consider adding another.

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2021 Discussion

I personally was more frightened of Mr Funshine as a kid.

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

If it's true, what an absolute waste of time and money that retheme was.

    Southport Pleasureland

Isn't the one at Coney Island supposed to be awfully rough to ride?

Do you feel that Boris Johnson has been a successful prime minister/politician?

As a politician, he is successful. He's consistently fallen upwards after failing at every position he's ever been given. Fired as a journalist. Ended up a Tory MP and in the shadow cabinet under Michael Howard, and sacked for lying. Won the London Mayoral contest twice. Came back as an MP...

Duel: The Haunted House Actually Strikes Back - Refurb Incoming

It's just sad at this point, more than anything else. Just another nail in the coffin.

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion

Why travel to Florida to try out Velocicoaster when we've got some lovely posters in a queue line. :tearsofjoy:

    Nemesis: Sub-Terra

I was a huge Sub Terra defender, and remain to this day. It was crap on opening day, but the V.3(?) that opened a few months later was incredibly fun. They need Sub Terra opened now more than ever, just get rid of the unpleasant hosts and jobs a goodun.

    Park Hours: Updates and Discussion

I'm sure in some Merlin attractions they used to give out a ticket to a random person at the start of the queue with the current time on it, and they'll give it to a host when they get to the station, and from that they can work out the queue time. I remember being given one when I went to the...

    2021: General Discussion

The only time I pay with cash is when I get the annual £20 off the grandparents at Christmas, and even that stays in the wallet for about six months.

    Somewhere to Stay

I live in Cheadle, and I second this, you can get a one bedroom flat on the high street for about £300 a month.

    Food & Beverage 2021

Was surprised by Woodcutters myself, went yesterday. The past few years, the food was grim for the price, but I really enjoyed it. Still spent £40 on two people, which is extortionate.

    2021: General Discussion

People stuck inside since January, and they still find things to moan about. You would have thought that coming out of lockdown, they'd give places the benefit of the doubt when things don't run smoothly on day one. I love moaning about Towers, but they can't really be blamed for operations today.
