    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Re: Thorpe Park At one point row's 4 and 5 were out on one train, and row 6 on the other. All on side 1.

    Fastrack - more being sold?

I agree that they over-sell fastrack itself. But in terms of operation, the only reason for a ride being on one train first thing is that the guest forecast is low, or that the ride has been handed over late for some reason. Also, you make that sound like it regularly happens, which it doesn't.

    Fastrack - more being sold?

No, they don't. If the park is busy enough to justify certain rides being run at a higher/full capacity, they will be. Also, just to let you know that rides such as Colossus require the same number of staff to run on 1 train, as they do on 2. So cuts in staffing budget (which aren't as common...

    Fastrack - more being sold?

Just want to clear up that Thorpe do not reduce capacity deliberately to "engineer queues". That is completely untrue.

Selected rides opening from 11:00am - Reversed

Re: Selected rides opening from 11:00am Just thought I'd say, yesterday on what was a quiet Saturday (air had a 5 minute queue at half 2ish), Th13teen had a huge queue waiting for it to open wrapping up to the previous Ug Swinger area, and that was for a 10 opening. I just don't understand how...

Selected rides opening from 11:00am - Reversed

Re: Selected rides opening from 11:00am I was closed from at least 2 till 5 today (waffles and ices) which I've never seen before. Certain areas did look absolutely shocking and not at all what you would expect from the UKs top park! (such as spinball noodle.

    Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

Had my first go on the 'new' Sub Terra today and I thought it was amazing. Totally unrecognisable from what it was like before. The first lift was more convincing, and the sequence in the chamber is honestly brilliant. I also experienced the back pokers etc for the first time. I was truly...

    Top Ten Parks

    1. IOA - Incredible theming and home to two of the best dark rides in the world, add some incredible coasters and water rides and you have yourself an amazing park. 2/3. Disneyland Parc 2/3. Magic Kingdom, couldn't decide between these two. Whilst DLP's individual rides are mostly better...

    Just gimmie, gimmie, gimmie...

Been there once and thought it was awesome, certainly my choice of where to eat at the park. :) Huge improvement on KFC.

    Phantasialand 2014: Chiapas

Re: Phantasialand Interesting seeing those pictures, I had only visited after that area was removed! Still loved the place though :P Speaking of which, I thought I'd post my TR from earlier in the year to save it from "The other place" :), seems I had a better impression! I'd heard all the...

    Florida/Orlando: General

Couldn't agree, it really is a dream to visit, and somewhere you can't get bored of! This summer is going to be hard thinking back to what I was doing last year! Words don't describe some of the rides, parks and attractions, IOA certainly is mind blowing! (In particular Forbidden Journey) :)...

Selected rides opening from 11:00am - Reversed

Re: Selected rides opening from 11:00am I've always thought of Air and Th13teen as the ones which people go to first? Disappointing but Alton obviously have their hands tied.

    Drop Towers

I've only recently managed to force myself on drop towers, very much a love hate thing. Apocalypse was incredible, but then I love Detonator and it's force amazes me every time. I suppose Mystery Castle/Tower of Terror don't count here? If so they wipe the floor... :P

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Re: Thorpe Park Fair enough :P I firmly agree on Rush however, had a trip a couple of weeks and ago and was blown away again. Must have had at least 4-5 full swings, and when you get a decent cycle, it really is hard to beat! I have to say I couldn't have a day whoring the rides at Thorpe...

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Re: Thorpe Park ^ Am I the only one who actually prefers Alton's rides over Thorpe's? (Apart from flats of course) None of Thorpe's coasters are particularly stand-out in my opinion (other than possibly Swarm), and then Alton has the balance of dark rides and family rides.

    Legoland Windsor

Had a trip a few weeks ago for the first time in a few years and hated it. I visited Legoland so much as a youngster, to go back and visit it later on and be so disappointed was a bit gutting. Only a few rides are "up the the standard" in my opinion, and just too many rides and attractions...
