    2021 Official Meet Update: 6/3/21

We have dearly missed our wonderful, hilarious and informal official meets since the end of the 2019 season, and can't wait to return to Alton Towers - and elsewhere - as soon as possible! Although the parks are likely to re-open in April, the limits on groups mean we can't hold an official meet just yet - but, all being well, we will hope to hold our first official meet from Friday, 24 to Sunday, 26 September 2021 at Alton Towers for Oktoberfest - staying over at the resort hotels!

We await confirmation of the events calendar in due course from Alton Towers, and will update as soon as we can.

There will not be an official meet for Scarefest this year, but of course or members are likely to head over every weekend and mini meets can be co-ordinated on the forum... but we naturally hope to hold a brilliant fireworks meet and possibly even a winter meet! All dates TBC!

Here's our fireworks 2019 group photo - the last time we all got together at our place. Bring it on!

Are you sure Oktoberfest is happening this year? there doesn't seem to be any mention of it on the Alton Towers website.

We anticipate the park's events calendar to be released in the next fortnight - and expect Oktoberfest to be on it.

I don't know if I'll be around for the one in September due to work and other holidays being planned, but I'm 100% nailed on for Fireworks. It's been far, far too long since I last saw many of the wonderful people from this site. <3

I might join you all for this, if you don’t mind being with an old Badger. So old that if she has to stand around (because folk are faffing), she might just have to nibble someone.

As someone who hasn’t stayed at ATH before, does anyone know if there any sockets I could acquire some electricity from for the moderately fancy automobile I would be rocking up in?

Trying to make a cost judgement at the moment just based on the distance!

There's currently no charging outlets at the hotels I'm afraid. I've seen the odd occasion where a bog standard outdoor outlet has been used by someone outside Splash, but I don't think that's the norm and might not even be permitted these days.

Meh no worries, I’ll have a gander on zapmap and see if I can find something nearby. :)

That's pretty unacceptable really, a big national attraction like AT should be leading the way on stuff like this. Especially given that public transport to the park is a complete joke.

I was thinking this. Alton Towers really should have charging stations especially as you tend to spend all day in the park, they wouldn't even need to be fast chargers. It would be an excuse for them to rake in even more parking chargers and they could get away with charging more.

Given the park struggles to maintain enough of a power supply into the park to run the rides and keep the lights on, I don’t think we should hold out much for EV charging…

As this is the meet topic you may be best creating a dedicated topic in Alton Towers General to discuss car charging in more detail :)

Oops! With all the changes, MAP pre books and everything else going on we forgot to confirm this! There are some of us there over the course of the weekend, so you'll no doubt catch us in the usual locations whilst a beer fest is on at a theme park ;). Likewise I'm sure many will be around over the course of Scarefest and of course Fireworks if anyone can't make this weekend.

All being well, we'll start afresh with meets in an official capacity from next season when we'll (hopefully!) be able to get a proper calendar of dates together again :)

What a thoroughly enjoyable return to a sense of normality this weekend. Cheers all.
