Bellewaerde Park, a small family theme park around 45 mins drive from Plopsaland, or 1 hour 10 from Calais, are replacing their Mack Tow Boat ride (Pirates of Adventure style) with a new Indoor and Outdoor experience from Zierer! It is the first coaster they have put in since... 1984!

The park today released the name on Youtube here.

Some stats:

custom indoor Zierer Family Coaster

Height: 15 m
Length: 500 m
Speed: 50 kph
Forces: 4G positive

Ride time: 2 mins
Trains: 2 trains, 20 people each (10 rows of 2)
Capacity: 1000 pph

Cost: € 4 million (£3.4m)

It will start out as a dark ride, with lots of special effects, including fire.

A lifthill takes you outside through the roof, only to drop you right back into the building for an indoor coaster finale.

On-board music.

Bellewaerde Park is owned by Compagnie des Alpes, who also own Parc Astérix, Fort Fun and the Walibi Parks.

:)

Some more pics from the parks facebook. A fair amount of track has been placed and I think the station is under way being built

I sure hope the park pull it off with this coaster. Looking forward to seeing it next year :)

Sorry to double post, but just wanted to show, that some more theming has arrived.

Thanks for the posts.

I think Movie Park Germany's efforts with the brilliant Van Helsing's Factory a couple of years ago has really allowed smaller parks to realise that modest budgets go a long way!

Exciting!

:D

I guess, it just seemed excessively high for what I assumed was a children's coaster. Also a throughput of 1000pph on just two trains of 20 is also impressive.

This isn't a kiddy coaster. By the sounds of things, the dark ride section is going to be similar to that of the Mummy at Universal Studios!.

Wow!

I hadn't seen or heard much about this project, but I have to say it looks impressive. I'm loving the look of the trains.

The supports for the outside bit have started going up

A different way to do it ;)

Just wondered, when is this meant to open. Will it open the first day of the parks season, or will it be later in the year? ;D

Those trains are fantastic! ;D Everything about this ride is great.

Why can't our smaller parks create this kind of magic? :(

I can't believe how fast this has flown up, efficient Belgians! Whole thing looks fantastic, can't wait to see a POV of it :)

Those trains are beautiful!

CdA are a bit weird with their investments anyway. They owned Pleasurewood Hills for a good few years over here and basically did sod all with it. Nice to see a small park having an installation that looks so goo though.

This project isn't spectacular, or incredible. And that's what I really like about it. It's simply a well-themed, high-quality new addition for a small park. For this small park, it'll mean the world. For them, this will be Kingda Ka ten times over. :)

What a lovely looking ride. :)
