SEAS did say a new attraction in every park every year from now on.

Here's some of the Tigris artwork. Loving the colour scheme.

The term 'attraction' varies however; that could simply mean one year a Larson Looper then the next a Zamperla Giant Discove... wrong park chain.

I just find this very odd. Would have been much nicer to save the money, get the RMC next year than another proper coaster a few years after that. These Sky Loops are becoming quite common now. A nice colour scheme is literally the equivalent of polishing a turd.

How is it a turd? The throughput isn't great but despite it being a clone (I really don't have a problem with clones as long as they're fun) Tigris will be smooth, fast, tall and will offer both airtime and hangtime. It's much better than adding a flat ride which would cost a comparable figure. Plus, who doesn't love a backwards launch. I haven't heard anyone who hasn't enjoyed these premier coasters.

If anyone wants to hear the Gwazi tease, skip to 16:45 in this video:

Because it's a lack of imagination that you expect from Six Flags and it's a damn shame that their copy and paste formula has been leaking into this chain of parks now. (It wouldn't surprise me if SWO hastily put one up in the not so distant future after IF).

I'm sure there are plenty of individuals who will enjoy Tigris; each to their own of course. However it would have been much more exciting to see BGT come up with a unique concept and execute that as they have demonstrated their ability to do so with their recent additions.

I wouldn't lose sleep if they were to U-turn and scrap this idea in favour for allocating a larger theming budget to Gwazi's RMC conversion and a larger future project.

I understand it's a clone and that frustrates some enthusiasts. But when you are given a budget for a flat ride and can add one of these coasters for a similar cost, why wouldn't you?

0.000000001% of park guests will know that it's a clone and even most of those people will enjoy it.

That's quite the unrealistic expectation of how many guests won't have heard of Tempesto or Electric Eel, particularly the latter given its presence of social media marketing. Like I said, each to their own and there will undoubtedly be many individuals who enjoy the ride. Hopefully these guests will equally enjoy SWO's version when they inevitably install one.

We'll have to see about that one.

Park announces triple launch coaster for 2019, teases RMC conversion for year after, enthusiasts complain.

    :p

I'm only complaining at the lack of imagination and Six Flags-esque approach; they've already got a decent launch coaster with a much better throughput. Save the money for a unique and much more interesting development that we all know Busch are perfectly capable of delivering ;)

Gwazi's re-development is long overdue! Hurrah at long last!

But the alternative with that kind of money is installing an off the shelf flat ride like BGW are doing in 2019. Surely having a new coaster is better? There aren't many coasters you can get for a few million, this is one of them.

But rather than an off the shelf flat ride they've installed an off the shelf coaster. There's nothing remotely unique or exciting about it other than it's the world's first sky loop coaster themed to tigers...

(Merlin marketing, I am currently not available to hire but if the price is right...)

A backwards launch is pretty unique for the area, as is such a tall and slow inversion.

"Hello yes, is that Universal? What's that? You've got a backward launch on your new Harry Potter coaster which is also opening in 2019?".

The main problem will be that it is the budget and capacity of a thrill flat, yet it has the appeal of a coaster because it is one, in an already popular park = horrible queues!

Anyway, all I care about now is Steel Gwazi! :D

Tigris will open first, so it is therefore Universal who have fallen to the curse of non totally uniqueness. We are not going to agree :p

And that matters why? Who cares which opens first, which will be better (I ask the unbiased members that is)

Of course Universal's new ride will be better (At least I hope so!).

    I'm not that bad!

The number of tourists however that won't give a cahoots about Tigris but will be queuing upwards of 5 hours for the Harry Potter coaster begs to differ :p There's only one backward launch coaster needed in Florida next year and it certainly doesn't belong in Tampa :p

I really dislike though how the marketing makes it seen like a totally unique ride. The layout wasn't designed for Tigris so don't make up lies.

Not that it really matters but I don’t think the new Harry Potter coaster has a backwards launch. You will be launched up the spike part of the track where you will then free fall backwards and continue around a short length of track before entering the free fall section of the ride, you then are launched forwards after the free fall drop.

Regardless, it does not detract that BGT do not need nor deserve this uninspired coaster. Bring on 2020!
