Creating Your RCT/No-Limits Topics - Tips

Welcome to the RCT and NoLimits forum on TowersStreet - the home of creations to show the community!

Whether you're a member creating your first topic or an established member creating a new topic, showcasing your own creations can sometimes be a hard thing. So below we have complied a few tips on creating a RCT/No-Limits topic. The tips below come highly recommended for members to gain full interest in your creation(s) as well as receiving comments/feedback from other members.

Tips on Creating a RCT/No-Limits Topic

- Title

The starting point of any new topic is the title. It sets the basis of your creation and grabs the attention of members that show and interest in your type of creation. Your title could be the name of your park on RCT, the roller coaster on No-Limits or even a short one liner teasing your creation. We recommend that in your topic title you state if your creation is from No-Limits or RCT, as your topic will be more likely to grab the right attention. E.g. RCT3 Park - Chimney Heights

- Description of creation

Adding a context can give more depth to your creation. So either introducing the topic with a short description or adding a description at the end of the topic can grab the interest of others. Let members know the type of creation you have made. In No-Limits you may want to describe the coaster type, facts and figures - and the elements it features. In RCT you may want to describe the rides and attractions your park features, the theme(s), the custom scenery and even describe the park back story (if applicable).

- Pictures

To quote the famous Chinese proverb: "A picture is worth a thousand words"

Pictures aren't just pretty colourful things that dress the place up. They are key to providing members with a visual grasp of your creation. It illustrates your creation, what you have done and it offers members to reply to your creation and give feedback much quicker when they have a visual reference. It is highly recommended that you include pictures within your topic.

- Future of Creation

Whether you have an active RCT park that is a constant work in progress. Or a No-Limits creation that is not yet finished. Adding a short description of where your creation will lead can inform other members of your intentions and could lead to members returning again and again, awaiting the next update! You may be even settled on where your park will lead next so may want to include some teasers to wet the appetite of others.

Below we recommend this basic layout of a new topic. However this is not mandatory and members are free to set out the topic to how they wish. It is your topic and your creation after all!

  • Title
  • Short description of creation/park
  • Picture(s) - include descriptions under each picture so members can place more of a context to it.
  • Video(s) (if applicable) - we recommend if you have created a video (or videos) they are placed under pictures. Again, include descriptions to give more of a context (if applicable).
  • Future and Teaser(s) - If you intend to carry the creation on its best to place this at the end of the topic. It grabs members' attention and can entice them back to checking out your creation.
  • Questions (if applicable) - Now and again you may have a question or two, or may be on the lookout for custom scenery or other (if using RCT). It's best to place any questions you have at the end of the topic.

We hope this topic will be of use to both old and new members to the RCT/No-Limits forum. If you have any questions then feel free to contact me via PM.
