Getting to Alton Towers by taxi

I'm going to Towers next week, but there won't be any buses running at the time I'll be arriving - so I'm thinking about booking a taxi there from Stoke Station.

Has anyone had experience of this? Is it advisable to prebook a taxi?

What day? Sorry for all the questions but I'm positive there is one around then haha!

EDIT: Scratch that, there is a bus at 18:10 from Stoke station. Taken from the Alton towers website:

Stoke Railway Station 05:25 07:20 09:30 10:30 13:25 16:40 18:10 19:10 01:15

Summer timetable 2012

Yeah, I'm aware that there's a bus at 6:10, but I was aiming to be at Towers for that time, rather than taking the hour long bus and getting there at 7pm :p

I'd imagine it'd be cheaper for you to get a train to Uttoxeter, and then get a taxi. Taxis from there are £20, and they wait outside the station, or alternatively, the 32A bus.
