Getting to Alton Towers by taxi

I'm going to Towers next week, but there won't be any buses running at the time I'll be arriving - so I'm thinking about booking a taxi there from Stoke Station.

Has anyone had experience of this? Is it advisable to prebook a taxi?

Stoke Station Taxis...a tad pricy though!

It would be around half 5 on a weekday evening.

EDIT: Scratch that, there is a bus at 18:10 from Stoke station. Taken from the Alton towers website:

Yeah, I'm aware that there's a bus at 6:10, but I was aiming to be at Towers for that time, rather than taking the hour long bus and getting there at 7pm

I'd imagine it'd be cheaper for you to get a train to Uttoxeter, and then get a taxi. Taxis from there are £20, and they wait outside the station, or alternatively, the 32A bus.
