I have noticed that nemesis sub terra has been closed for "ongoing maintenance" for several weeks. Must be quite significant.

it was also closed for a few weeks around the time of the smiler crash for changes to the restaints.

I think they just don't know what to do with it now. The "fix" with the new restraints meant only skinny teenagers could fit in it, from what I've heard. This is what you get when you try to make one communal lap bar fit a whole row of people. (Just ask @Panda what it was like to ride Colorado Adventure next to @Joel)

Another absolutely pathetic ongoing problem. Just open the damn thing.

My guess is they can't afford the staff to run it.

actually i (a skinny teenager) easily managed to go on it with my dad with the new restraints quite comfortably, whereas when i went on the one at the dungeons (with old restraints) was quite uncomfortable.

i know better than most people what its like going on a drop tower with a communal lap bar and hitting the seat when it stops

Spending a night in the same room as you allows anyone to understand true fear.

As was said in another thread, I'm pretty sure that this is just another Saw: Alive. It's dying a slow death and will start only opening at Halloween or busy times of year.

There was a big discussion about this in the 2015 thread.

I personally think now that the technical issues have been fixed but towers are now just leaving it closed to save money. I imagine to will open for Halloween, or maybe not at all this season?

They must save a fortune just in staffing costs with it closed, they don't even have anyone stood at the entrance anymore.

I just wish they would put a sign on the entrance telling people it's closed for the day.

The ride should be removed and replaced by a well themed flat ride.

It is sad, as the ride had a lot of love put into the idea of it, but it is a complete failure.

I'd like it to stay until towers have a relatively low investment season. Then do what thorpe did and add 5 flats in that one year. Replace sub-terra and the submission memorial garden, add some in dark forest, and maybe even in gloomy wood or katanga canyon.

If it's removed now, I think it would be left SBNO or just an empty area for years which would be a shame as the area has potential and the rides not that bad. That said, I think submission should be replaced first as x-sector seems to struggle more now, on ancient flat, a gerst that breaks constantly, and oblivion - which has a lot of strain put on it if the other two breakdown. A reliable flat on the submission site would be more useful than a replacement for sub terra IMO. Let's face it, if they wanted, I'm sure they could sort it quite easily, there must be a reason.

A real shame if it's left SBNO'd. I don't want to see another Black Hole - sitting there wasted for nearly a decade.

Quite frankly, I think it's under appreciated and Towers don't really deserve to have such a ride anyway, given their lacklustre line up of dark rides. I can see what the experience should be like but for some reason it just doesn't quite get it right.

But, it IS another ride for the park. Essentially just a flat ride in a box. So why not keep it running?

If they need to close a ride, then for gods sake let it be CATCF instead. Move staff and resources over to Sub Terra.

Would they need to close it? I was under the impression that all they was doing was replacing the restraints? At worst, all I can see happening would to have a very low waist restriction. Tearing out a working ride because a average/slightly larger person would take the walk of shame would just be a waste.

Generally, its an OK attraction. Just watch the reaction from people who havent been on it and you see it scares the hell out of people. But, as with all things Towers, it could be so much better. The opening video for example about the Nemesis creature could be changed to make it less, erm, unbelievable, pinning down an alien with rollercoaster track for example lol.

Then the bottom of the lifts with the eggs, would have been better if some sort of animated creature was facing each lift, and at the bottom, the head looks from left to right with glowing eyes, maybe spraying some light water across the riders. As for the ending, it was far better with the actors in there, but without them its just dull and bare. The end needs some serious consideration.

Noticed this on the AT facebook page:
which to me implies that it's probably not going to be opening any time soon, maybe not at all this season.
